Introductions & Greetings

newbie from honolulu hawaii here. just got the '82 k5 plated
after a year of working on it. ( one tons swap, tossed the
weak-sauce 700R4 for a th350, 10" suspension lift, new
rims/tires, ladder bars, welded in a rollbar, etc etc etc..)

eventually im going to do a 454 swap as well, just bidding time
and collecting parts... i would put in a pic but i cant figure out
how to upload direct from the puter without using a host site
like photof@ckit yet.

I'm new to the forum and looking to find someone who sells a plastic or similar material cover for the bedside rails when theta is off for the summer.

thanks
I don’t have any info for ya, so maybe make a post on the Garage forum and see if you get an answer

Welcome aboard!

Yes, there’s a minimum post count to direct post pictures. Your other option is membership
Definitely wouldn’t trust photosuckit...

Welcome to CK5, stop in and say hello, this is a great place to make your first post and tell us a little about yourself/truck. :D
new to the forum. does anyone know of a supplier that sells plastic bed rail caps for when the top is off for the summer?

Jumping back on to say hello. I looked at my last post and it was 2006. Lots of things have happened since then. Was in Ky. now in Fl. Still have the original truck when I joined. Its just not in as good of shape as it was then. I now have my Dads '80, like I said a few things have happened, and just recently purchased a '88 Jimmy Classic. In fact as I write this the wife is on her way to pick it up (5/25/2020 1015 EST). Till next time.

Hi guys! Name is Ken from little town called Walhalla, South Carolina. finally got my 1985 K5 today! Can't wait to start tinkering with it and doing some tweaks! Look forward to tapping all the expertise here!

Couple pictures after I unloaded here today and parked her in the shop.

Nice looking K5! My folks bought a 86 that looked just like that. Except it had white wagon wheels....ahh, memories...

What’s up Everyone. My name is a Chewy and I just picked up This 1988 GMC Jimmy Sierra Classic. It was converted from Diesel to gas with the 350, about 20+ k miles on it, new tranny and drive train 1500 miles. 4” lift on rear with a Block. I picked it up for 3500 and am going to try and put some dough into it.

I am ready to order lift kit. Thinking of a BDS suspension 6” lift kit with Fox 2.0 shocks and Leafs all
Around, no block. it’s pretty pricey though I’m not opposed. I am wondering opinions?

Also what else you’d recommend upgrading after doing the lift?

Keep with a 4” lift, and use the driveshafts you have. Fox shocks are good, as are bilstein

check the length or the brake lines

and Welcome aboard

Thanks I can’t seem to figure out how to add photos to show in the thread.

Ive got 35 x 12.5x 15 tires on it and seems like they hit fender, so was thinking it needed the 6” but I was also recommended to stay 4” I do like the look of it now.

Yep, new members need 5 posts or more to post pictures

I post straight from the phone. It’s pretty easy
