Introductions & Greetings

Looking to customize an 85 Blazer. Thought I'd hit up some experts for ideas. I am more of a hunter than a rock crawler. Any IDEAS?????

Hi all. My name is Rick. I currently dont have a K5, but the wife has a 82 GMC Jimmy, 454-SM465 and a NP208. 3/4 ton axles and 4-5"s of lift. Awaiting tires for it. I want to get my own Blazer but I want a Diesel CUCV or Civvy version.
Thanks
Rick

I'm finnaly going to have some time to work on it but numerous parts will have to be replaced. I'm hoping some of you will help me aquire hard to find parts such as a metal clamp that holds down the rear bench seat tubing to the floor. It's a pleasure to belong to Colorado5. AJ

Lots of experts on this site, ask the same question on the garage forum and you will get tons of ideas. Me, i'd give it a moderate lift, mud tires and good shocks first. :pimp:

New to Ck5

Hi - I'm brand new to CK5, but not to the venerable K5. I had an 89 for years, and sold it to get something else. BIG mistake! Now i'm looking at buying another one. I'm in Colorado at 6500ft altitude and I need to tow a pretty heavy load. But i just CANT bring myself to get something as big as a suburban!

Hello, I am to be a new owner of a 1991 GMC Jimmy Full-Size, with the 5.7L V-8, Auto, 4WD. This is my first truck/suv, I owned a 1988 Porsche 944S prior to this vehicle but fell asleep at the wheel and sent the car to the grave-yard. I am 21, go to the University of Texas at Austin. The truck I am buying from a neighbor, it has a ranch hand front grill guard and stock lift (I think). The truck has 144k original miles and the owner has had the truck since '95. It was primarily used as a hunting truck and sat in the sun for most of it's life. The only rust I found was on the top of the cab, near bottom-corners of windshield, and a little surface rust on the hood. The wheel-wells were clean. None of the rust looks major, and buffing/spraying the panels should help. I look forward to asking questions in these forums. The forums I used to frequent for my Porsche were Rennlist.com forums and they were very helpful. Thanks.

Hello everybody im landon and im 14, i have an 86 k-5 blazer (ohhhyeah i worked my ass off for it) and have about 1000 (and growing every month) to put into it. My blazer is completly stock except for some old parts my dad had laying around from his (nothing important though) I plan on getting a 4" lift with Bushwacker Cut Outs & lockrights F/R but im not sure how the 10bolts would hold up to 35claws and moderate wheeling. My dad wont let me do anything for awhile until i drive it for a few years, by then though ill have enough to do it all. I also have a 51 M38 Willys that needs restored but im more into my blazer at the moment. Id have way more saved up if i hadnt spent about 1000 of my hard earned money on my paintball gun/gear/paint in under a year. My family and i own about 7 working 4x4 4 of which are jeeps (yeah i know...) and the rest are chevys. We have loads of old parts for any thing, hell i think we have about 5 d44s (out of jeeps) 2 10bolts(one out of a s10) 1 14bolt (ive begged my dad but he still wont let me have it...) and a couple AMC 20s. We have about 6 differnt jeep tubs most arent in bad shape and countless t cases and trannys for jeeps. We have a few v-8s sitting around. but the best is our custom cheveep. (im guessing thats what the 14bolt is for.) Does any one make trips to Cass AR., Disney OK, or Hot Springs AR?

:burb: Hi, I'm Shawn from Houston. I own a '91 Chevy Sub 1500 and a '02 Z71 Sub. The '91 is a hoss, tougher, rugged, mean. Been around the block with it a few times. Getting close to some tranny work and yet another rear end rebuild. Looking to do some paint, drivetrain, and engine work soon. Paint is my biggest nemesis right now, peeled, faded, rusting. I'll be checking the forums for advice. I've owned the truck for about 7 years and have loved every minute. Reliable, cheap to fix, fun to drive, my wife may not agree. :haha:
