Hi there another new member from Up North... My Name is Nick 25 years old I am the proud owner of 2 81 Jimmy's... still fairly new to the 4x4 world but loving every second. my main rig is an 81 jimmy with 8 inch suspension lift 35 in krawler t/a's duel flowmaster's and 9000lb warn winch. Hey gang, My name is Cary, I'm 48 years old from Tuson, Arizona (killer trails) and sell parts in the auto recycling industry. I wheel a '80 blazer with a '89 front clip and '98 grand cherokee front seats. Mechanically it's pretty standard stuff, I built it from the ground up starting with only the frame and cab/backhalf. I used a dana 44 in front and a 10.5 14 bolt rear with 4.10 gears. I ditched the drums and converted to disc in the rear. 350 bored .030 with world s/r torquer heads (2.020 int. 1.600 ex. manley valves and roller tip rockers) Comp extreme energy 4x4 cam ( cant recall the grind right now), Edelbrock rpm manifold and 1406 carb. I love building s.b.'s and this one rocks. what a sound thru the flowmasters ( neighbors love it when I light it up some early mornings I'm sure). She's got a sm465 and a 208 to back it up.Tires are 34 x 10.5 swamper tsl's on 16 x 7 steel wheels. I'm saving right now for a detroit for the rear and 4.56 gears. Feel free to e-mail me re. the mods. I'm happy to pass on tips, tricks and links to help you out with your project. If you looked in my garage you would assume I must have a thread gauge but I dont. So my QUESTION IS...what size and thread count are the tapped holes on the passenger side of the 208 t-case ? These are the two bolt holes for the brace rod between the t-case and bell housing. Anybody know? Thank's Cary Oh yeah, lift is BDS 4 inch and minor triming.

Hey there , my name is Bruce . I'm in Milwaukie , Oregon . I've popped in and out of here a few time's and thought I should sign up . I own a 77 3/4 ton GMC that I've chopped and bobbed and put a d60 up front , welded 14blt in the rear (4.10) , 6+'' lift and alot of sheet metal removal fit's 42'' swampers . recently tossed the t350/203 out for a sm465/205 and went with a hydro clutch . It now look's like a really short crew cab with a rattle can camo job . when I can post pic's I will . Look's like alot of good tech on this sight and I hope to add as much as I pillage :laugh: .

hey guys and galls i supose, just though i would say whats up and all that good stuff nice to be part of the comunity, joiing cause i got a project gonig, attempting to put a 93 standerd cab long bed gmc sonoma on a 86 full size pickup truck frame. of coarse the chasy from the full sixe is 4x4 with a 350, any one ever attempt this?

...and only underpowered, overweight M1114's to 'wheel. Greetings from Iraq. I've been over here for 8 months with the 3rd Armored Cavalry, and I'm looking forward to getting back to Colorado to get some more work done on my 1970 K5. There have been many times I've seen a great spot to play in the sand and wished I had my truck instead of an up-armored HMMWV. The Blazer is my 2nd 4x4 and fourth 67-72 Chevy truck. I've owned 1970 and 1967 C10s and a 1967 K10 (still have it, probably going to sell when I get home). The K10 is decked out with some of Offroad Design's parts and I can't say enough about their customer service and the awesome quality of their products.
Plans for the Blazer? Well, a soft top and a full rollcage are towards the top of the list. I want to rework the suspension (curently a 6" Superlift kit all around) with an ORD shackle flip and probably some 52" springs in the front, and I'm going to trim the fenders a bit to fit 39.5" or 40" tires. My buddy has an old CUCV sitting around from which I plan to jack the D60 and 14 bolt, and I want to put the SM465 from my K10 in it along with an ORD Doubler. From there I'm sure things will get the rest of the way out of hand.

Hey fellow k5ers. It,s my first post ever . my name michael i have 83 suburban with a 2 speed 700r 1st & 2nd. 3rd & 4th said goodbuy months ago a week after its 3rd rebult. this site is pretty much the only one i visit. chevy man for life. btw will not ever put in another 700r4 ever.....

New to the CK5 thang

Hi everyone. I'm Nate Marsh, from Arvada, Colorado. My rig is known in the CK5 world as a Bleep, as it's a '73 Wagoneer hiding a bunch of GM drivetrain. 350 TBI from a wadded up cop car, TCI TH-400, ORD gen 2 doubler, 14 Bolt rear and 60 front. Hit BB05, and what a great bunch. I've never wheeled with a group that was as diverse, yet as tolerant of the differences in rigs and people as that group.
 
name's Lance, age 26, from Reno, NV. Though I was away from the board for a few years I'm back :) I've owned a '73 Cheyenne Super 10 for ten years now- I purchased it from my dad in sad shape, he bought it new in '73. I thank god he traded his Chevelle SS396 for that truck to impress my mom, or I never would have been into four wheeling :D I restored it, painted it Lemon Glow yellow, rolled it, painted it army green, then tired of that and it's now orange and white again.

I just came off owning a deuce and a half M35, and can devote more time to my "small" trucks. Deuces are pretty labor intensive, but FUN. I also purchased my uncle's '78 Cheyenne 20 for $600 and am totally transforming that into a semi-buggy. It is in sad shape, but she runs, drives, stops, and is titled and has a 396/sm465/np205/14bff so I can't complain.

I understand your frustration, but do some research, the right year's 700 r4's built properly are plenty tough. Dont write 'em off. Cary

hey everyone! i am new to this and computer illiterate so please bear with me.i am married with 2 kids and an 1987 blazer thats mostly stock.i discovered this site recently and decided to check out blazer bash 2005. what a great bunch of guys.i want to send out a special thanks to the sheet metal gang for making me feel at home.i am ready for a new project for next year.i would highly recommend showing up.when i get some help i will put up pictures and participate more.i am looking forward to learning about what mods work.

It's my first post here. I've got a '78 Jimmy High Sierra I've owned since 1989, about to tick over 300,000 miles (on the 2nd engine). She's mostly stock, with the exception of swapping out the original and very tired 400 for a Goodwrench 300HP 350ci about 30K miles ago.

This is a new hobby for me so I am very naive but willing to learn :D I work in information technology and basically need something other than computers to work in/for/at all day.

Hello everyone after visiting this site for the last few years I finally joined. I own 2 K5 an 80 Jimmy (my custom truck) and an 86 Blazer My Driver/ Donor / Snow plow. I have borrowed many great Ideas from you all and thank you very much. A little about me. I grew up in the jeep world, (still own one) and bought my first K5 in 1999, a rusted out 1980 Jimmy. After an expensive tranny swap I used it mostly for plowing. The I started play around at the local ORV Park I was amazed how well this stock rig functioned. I got the bug back in a bad way. I found this site and was inspired by MAD MAX I loved his Idea. (what happened to that truck?) Anyway out came the torch, welder, bender, bla bla bla, and with the help of my old man ( a master craftsman by the way ) I gave my old Jimmy a trimmin. (no pics to post yet) concept of this rig was stock soft suspention. low center of gravity and to fit in with out jeepin family (they almost disowned me for ownin a fullsize) I wanted to run atleast 36 inch tires, now I am lookin at fitting some 42's. Well my Jimmy has a full 6pt roll cage made with 2 inch 256 DOM tubing and it is a perminant convertable I still have some work to do. I want to redo the front so any ideas would be great. I built half doors out of the originals I copyed them from my wrangler it worked out well. I just bought an 86 that had the 1 ton running gear and this is my current position. I am swapping my 80 10/12 bolt for my 86 D60/14blt with crossover steering, the 14blt has rear discs and a track bar
I have the 10 mounted back in the 86 and am getting ready for the rear swap. any advise would be great. Well thanks again
