Hello! My name is Daryl and I live up in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I've been reading this forum on and off for awhile and decided it was time to become a paying member. It's been well worth it, lots of great info and pictures. (lots of great ideas!)

I'm not a hard core off-roader as my trucks are both 2wd, but I enjoy using them both for camping and pulling my boat.

I have a 1989 GMC Suburban 1/2 ton and a 1995 Chevy Silverado 1/2 ton.

I'm currently working on the sub, currently adding a 3" body lift and 33" tires. Future plans are a large roof rack and custom bumpers. My family and I spend alot of time outdoors, mountain biking and boating, so I'd like to buid the sub into a vehicle that will handle all our junk!

I looked at it and was like "That looks like a '67, but this guy's gotta know what he has if he built it himself..." That's how I tell '67s and '68s apart, by whether or not the truck has side marker lights or not...

What are you planning for the Jimmy?

I dunno, not too much. I can pick up a used 4" lift for 200 bucks that I think Ill do. Maybe slightly bigger tires. Thought about building a grill guard for it. Other than that, just fixing the problems it has. Tranny feels like its going out, found a rebuilt one for 250 bucks. Engine has some issues, although the PO fed me a line of crap saying it was rebuilt. So Ill see.

New to the site

Hey everyone. Just paid my fees so I can finally post. Just wanted to say what a great site this is and how much all you're projects have helped me and given me ideas on my rig. I just picked up a 79 Blazer. It is completely stock. Well, almost stock. It originally came with a 400 but someone had put in a goodwrench 350 crate motor before I got it. I have a rough country 4" spring lift on order and it will be my first upgrade. I plan on putting 35x12.5's on it when budget allows. Just wanted to say hi and enjoy reading all your posts in the future.

i am from washington state i wheel a 77 gmc jimmy with a rebuilt 350 a rebuilt th350 with a shift kit and cooler np203 d44 front and 12 bolt rear i have a 3/4 ton d 44 front and a 14ff rear with 4.10s i am going to swap in soon it has headman headers true dual 2.5 inch magnaflows rhino lined floors 33 inch tires but no lift yet

not a lot of k5's
we have many trails and raids. mainly local and national and some european championships.
a couple of mags for 4x4s
lots of places to go to and quick since we re small, many mountains and beaches
