Introductions & Greetings

Hello everyone. I guess I should of started here. Well anyway here's my story. This one time at band camp.... J/K My name is Lorenzo, I live in Anaheim, CA. I just purchased my first blazer about a month or so ago. It started out as a purchase for a beater so I could go have instant offroading gratification. However, it has now somehow turned into a full rebuild. The project almost got scrapped when I ran into my frame issues but I think that has been resolved so now the build will continue.:D So far I have already purchased the following from ORD.

Front
HD Greasble shackles
FUSH - Front upper shackle hanger kit
Sway bar quick disconnect kit
Tuff country 6 inch leafs
Stainless brake lines

Rear
Shackle flip kit
HD Rear Super Shackles
Greasable bushings
Ubolt kit

Steering
Weld in brace and bolt in brace.

I still have a lot more stuff to buy but for the mean time that will keep me occupied. Anyway, enough blabbing. It's a pleasure reading everyone's input and seeing everyone's rig. Here's a pic of my beater's before pic.

Whats up people. I have known and used this site for a awhile but now I'm a memeber and its awesome. My name is Ben. I live in Riverside CA. I was born in Dever where my dad taught me most about wheeling. So I have been wheeling my whole life. When I graduated Highschool in 99 I bought a 2000 chevy 4x4 and took it wheeling in two days. I have that and now a 1980 K5. I have done all my own work. I will post pictures when I get the guts. Its lifted 6", locked all around, Crossover hydro assist steering. Deaver springs, 700 R4, and a custom dash and interior. I love working on it and wheeling it. Big Bear is my test track. I have a custom rear bumper thats is beefy and functional. So i think thats sbout it. Well except I own a crane repair company so mechanics and fabricating is in my blood. Thats about it. If your in my area im always up to wheel. I will be going to colorado to wheel this winter with my bro. So if your interested let me know.

I posted an intro in the lounge a little while back, but I figure I will post one here too. My names Greg and I live in Red Deer Alberta, originally from Thompson Manitoba. I'm an apprenticeing welder, and I've just recently picked up an '86 GMC Jimmy. I'm currently working on building a 350 for it, and am planning a 6" suspension lift in the spring, along with some 38.5 or 39.5 inch tires, and a set of 15x10 steelies. I want to get a dana60/gm14 bolt for it also, but I don't think this is in the budget for now, so until i start snapping axles i plan on getting ring and pinion sets for the front and rear, and welding the rear end up. I will be posting alot more questions soon about this stuff, so anyways nice to meet you all, this is a great forum from what I've seen so far.

Hello from SoCAL

My name is Lance, I have a 1975 K10 SWB. Currently redoing the charging system to a CS130 alt and upgrading the headlights w/relays. The truck has a 4" lift with rear blocks(soon to be spring lift). I traded about 150 dollars worth of Craftsman hand tools for the truck,so I think I got a GREAT DEAL(he was asking $1000,but needed tools for his new job):D
Look forward to talking with all of you. Thanks
-Lance

I just realized I've been posting here for a little while without introducing myself.

My name is Roy and I recently bought a 1985 K20. It was a well worn but well optioned camper special that had a blown motor. From what the guy described, he blew it on the highway. After pulling the engine and seeing the absolute carnage, I think the incredibly sloppy shifter in the SM465 caused him to shift to 1 instead of 3 and he overreved the engine. I found a junkyard engine and swapped it in. It's only a 305 but it will get the truck around until I get either a 383 stroker or 454 built to replace it.

Before I got my K20, I posted on here a few times with information about my gear ratio calculator: http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html

As you may guess by my home page, I'm a bit of a Jeep guy. However, I grew up driving GM cars. I still drive GM, my current ride being a 2004 GTO. I've also wheeled with plenty of K5s and other Chevy/GMC trucks and I've always wanted to have a Chevy truck. I'm building a CJ7 to be a trailer queen rock crawler (with a 5.3/4L60 drivetrain) and it will be on a trailer behind my K20. In the mean time, I'm going to take the K20 out to do some moderate wheeling.

Finally Paid Up

So I've been lurking around this website for almost 8 years now probably and just finally paid my membership. If I remember correctly though, it wasn't a pay site when I was still a new lurker.... Back in high school I had an 86 K5 on 6" superlift and 35's, MSD offroad ignition, idle cam, etc etc. For college I had to have something a little more reliable and something that I wouldn't try to beat the piss out of every weekend so I had a 4x4 tacoma for the last 5 years, now I'm set on getting another k5 to play with as a second vehicle. I can finally afford it, I think, depending on how deep I get into it I guess... Anyway, should be looking at something to buy in the next couple weeks here. Here's some pics of me using my blazer about 6 years ago, not sure where it is today. Happy to be here and trying to soak up as much info as I can to get ready for my build, want to buy a cheep one in good mechanical order and start with a 6" and 37's????..... we'll see where i go from here, enough rambling, I'm done.

Thanks man, You've definitely been around here a lot compared to some people, I'm sure I'll be asking for your advice in the near future, if you know anything about 77's I'd appreciate some knowledge on my other post in the tech dept. on checking out one this friday.

I'll do what I can. Lots of info on here. It's pretty safe to assume the combined knowledge we have here can answer just about any question. Some of the best technical guys I know in here off the top of my head are 4X4HIGH, Dyeager535, and imiceman.

Hi All,

On here just scouting ideas for my 84 K5....got some nice rides on here and some good info. I am sure I will have more posts in the future.

Hey Guys,
Just got setup, but have been reading for a few years (At work). We recently got wireless available at the ranch. No phone lines here and satellite is iffy at best.
I have a 1980 silverado heavy duty 3/4 4x4. One tough truck.
Looking forward to being a part of this.
Thanks,
