hi, im kevin. i have been a member since 2004 but never posted till i saw the prerunner thread and talk of sand dunes, lol. i have been a forklift mechanic for over 10 years. i also build race engines and race cars on the side, although that has been slow this year since i had to move and my regular job is unnecasarily time consuming. i live southern california, no wife or kids or any of that, just my toys. i spend alot of time at glamis, i moderrate a glamis website.
i have a stable of project vehicles, lol my first being my 79 blazer, had it 16 years. everything has been changed or modified in some way. to date i have had 7 transmissions in it either t350 or the 2 t700-r4's i tried and broke. the rear axle has been broke and rebuilt 4 times (i probably drive a little too hard) but after do the last rearend and trans myself i havent had any issues since, go figure. i have a lot of plans for it to make i perform at high speed in the desert better. current engine is one i built 10 years ago, stock block and cast crank thats been machined for better strenght and heat treated. 6 in rods, kb pistons 9.5:1 comp, dart sportsman heads and a small roller cam, holley intake and a edlebrock carb, roller rockers headers etc. im currently changing the heads and cam to some dart pro1 aluminum heads and a much larger more radical cam, the head swap will also bump my compression up some more.
my tow rig is a 73 chevy crew cab single rear wheel 2wd. i need to basically rebuild everything on this truck. its got a big block in it, trans needs rebuilt, and interior is shot. im collecting parts to update the interior and add a few things that came on later models like power everything. i am thinking of converting it to 4wd as well just in case i get stuck pulling a trailer out at glamis (camp areas are sand).
last project car is my 82 camaro, its currently a shell but i have all the parts to complete it, just need to start fabricating the roll cage and some other items. its strickly a race car, engine i have going in this should make upwards of 900hp, with only 362 cubic inches, naturally aspirated. its basically a comp eliminator engine that i am putting into a small tire super stocker hopefully to go a few rounds at nhra events and try to compete in some 10.5 outlaw classes.
now all i need is time to do all this stuff, lol
