Obviously, I am new here. I'm from Lima, Oh and I just got my first K5 yesterday. I traded one of my VWs (92 Jetta GL) for it. This isn't my first 4x4 though, I used to own a hard top Suzuki Samurai, ans my wife owns a 95 4x4 Blazer.

About my ride. It's an 86 with a Hooker header back exhaust with the cats eliminated, an Edelbrock air cleaner and 33" tires on stock rims, oh.....and it's an auto.

Well, here she is. Don't let the pic fool you, she does have some rust, but the frame is solid.

Here's my summer car, it's a 95 VW Golf Sport with over 230k miles on it.

hey my name is steve i live in minnesota. just got me a 87 v10 the previous owner put in a 307 from a 72 new heads, cam, intake mani, and carb. first time the top has been off is when i bought her. there is a bit o rust but who really cares right. surprisingly all the windows work not bad for a starter truck. would love to lift it and new tires for starters

Hello all. I have been a member for a little while now, so I thought I would intro myself. I just recently acquired a 87 K5 to head to the trails with. It needs some work but is basically sound. I live in Ardmore AL. There are a few trails within driving distance from me. A new 2000 acre (might be 200?) park in Cullman AL, some in Bham area, one in Aniston AL. Chattanooga TN, GA, SC, South AL. I'm a Long Haul OTR driver (in fact I write this from Fort Smith AR on my way to Flagstaff AZ) so I get home only a few days a month. This limits my play time, but I am trying to figure out a way to carry my Blazer with me so I can stop off in UT, AZ, NV, CA, NC, SC, PA, IN and do some wheeling. Maybe. Anyway I am glad to have CK5 for support and info, it is a great forum.

My names Gary, grew up in lowndesvilled SC before the family moved up north to caroline, Virginia. worked the farm till i joined the Army in september 06'. im a 94E (radio/comsec repair) and currently working as a 63B(Light wheel mechanic) in the 82nd airborne devision located outta Fort Bragg, NC. I hate the army, the army hates me.. so we get along just fine. My pride and joy is a 1987 k5 Blazer that an old guy had when i was in AIT in georgia. It was White, barely any rust (cept under the carpet where i didnt even look) and was my dream truck since i was little and my grandfather had one. Plus it was made in the exact month year i was born! haha. Newho, I have added 4;10 geras, front and rear. 4 inch lift, 3 inch body lift. Im in the process of cutting out all the rust inside the cab and replacing it and puttin in new carpet. I want it to be nice ya know? I had it ppainted electric pearl blue with a mettallic flake, which the dog scared it on the passenger side while I was in Korea....umm its a work in progress and probably never quit with it. Its definatly a head turner and get alot of compiments everywhere i go. Pics to follow as soon as i get settled in here at fort bragg.

Figure I'll post here, even though I've technically been with the site since sometime last decade...

Hi I'm Rich, and I just picked up a New-to-me Jeep Cherokee... I realize it doesn't hold a candle to my old 73K20 Suburban, but when my Frontier threw a timingchain, I kind of ended up in a bit of a bind, and had no choice but to snag what I could afford, and walk to, which came in the form of a $800 1990 Jeep Cherokee Limited. It has plush leather interior, power everything (most of it works) and enough quirks to have me running in circles fixing various busted items. Biggest problem was front brakes... Some idiot swapped the ABS mastercylinder for a standard Mastercylinder and did a pisspoor job of it, neglecting to put a proportioning valve into the mix... they also failed at adjusting the brakepedal for the difference in throw, causing it to warp every brake rotor that they threw at it until now.

Fuel tank leaks, because the rear seam has split, so I can't fill it all the way up, but new tank will run me $130, new fuel pump (this one is humming) will run me another $80, and finding all the stupid vacuum leaks will probably run me out of my head. Good news is, State law says anything older than 1995 doesn't need a smog test, so the plan is to rip out "unnecessary emissions parts" such as the most likely malfunctioning EGR valve.

Also, for anyone who remembers me from Arizona, or California, I now live in Wisconsin.

Now I'm back, payed my $25 up front, 'cuz this site is DA BOMB for good info. (and good people)
I currently have a '78 'Burb 4x4 1/2T 350/350 203 10B/12B no lift yet
and a '76 1/2T short wide 4x4, 305/350, 205, D44/14Bff 6" suspension 3" body lift on 38.5's (can you hear my 44 crying help?)
I'm a built not bought kinda guy, and a dyed in the wool wheeler and fabricator.

New Guy From Tennessee

Howdy folks, one of your members told me about this site, so I thought I join up. Until last week, I never knew there were any K/5 forums out there, but this looks like a good one.

I have a '72 K/5 CST which I've owned since '79. It's all original with a 350/350TH, AC, factory Positrac (I added 4.10 gears), and removable hardtop option. Here she is not having been washed in a couple of months and no tire dressing. Yep, she just sits in the garage until a special occasion comes up. Oh yeah, the spot beneath the truck is condensation from the AC as I had just parked it when I decided to take some photos.
