hey all

hey everyone so im josh im new here and new to owning a k5 blazer. i dont really know much of anything about them ive been pretty much a car person and been all bout goin fast and all im pretty much a honda person ive got quite a few hondas and one custom built race honda that ive been working on. im trading one of my cars off for a 87 k5 blazer im planning on fixing it up a bit and building it and makin it nice and also my truck to take muddin. i had an old 71 international scout II for a while but had to get rid of it. im here to learn about my blazer cuz i pretty much know nothing other than its 87 it has a 350 with throttle body fuel injection its got a lift on 35s. one thing i do need to know is it has a broken rear window and i was wondering what years of the k5 blazers have the tops or windows that are interchangable? well hope to get to know everyone and cant wait to start learning!! thanks everyone!

Hello my name is Sean. I am from NH and love to go wheeling and building new vehciles. I have had 2 Wranglers, 4 Cherokees and decided it was time to build something different. I just purchased a very rusty 89 K5 Blazer. I have already cut out the rear floor and started spot weld in new supports, new floor pans. My goal is to do a 6in lift, 36in TSLs, front and rear winches with custom bumpers. Leave the tbi 350 alone, I really want to swap out the 700r and 208 with a turbo 350 w/203-205 doubler, but that will probably have to wait till next year. Right now the truck has the 10 bolt front and rear, I planning on leaving those alone as well, unless anybody has some reason why I shouldn't. This full size stuff is new to me.

And I really hope to meet or wheel with some you guys this summer!!

Sean

My name is Ken. I have a '73 c10, but this site looks like it has a bunch of good info for these old square bodies. I'm slowly but surely fixing up this old beast. I love knowing that I will never have to deal with smog!

hello everyone, my name jorge in i live in los angeles. ive owned two previuos blazers, a 74 and an 89, both of which were bone stock. they were used as daily drivers. within this last monthi laid my eyes on this beautiful 72 k5 cst. i circled it like a shark a few times until finally deciding to go in for the kill. it needs resoration, but what i found out was that this thing was all original. it had the origanal engine, tranny and ac unit, all of which still work. there is no rust on this thing except for on the rocker panel. this is a california truck and has never seen mud, or snow. part of me tells me just to restore it and leave it original, but i dont think i can do it.

im going to become a member in the site and then start my investigation as to amount of work involved and goals to set. so far what i have in mind is 454bb/4l80e/np205, dana 60 in front, 14 bolt in the rear. money is kinda tight right now so i have time investigate and plan ahead. i will post pics soon and show what i plan to do.
hope to meet some friends close by that can help too

Newb from So Cal

How's it going? I'm Nick, 21, I'm from Hemet, CA and I am now the owner of a 78 GMC K1500. It's got a 6 inch lift and 35 BFG ATs and not much else. Over time I want to swap a 700R4 in it and eventually make it into a prerunner/crawler with the use of 64s, 52s and some bypass shocks. Mainly I go to Glamis or Ocotillo Wells, eventually want to make it out to Pismo and Moab. Thanks.

New to the forum

Hello everyone. I'm new the chevy toy world. I have always owned chevy trucks as my daily drivers but never the toys. Im a former Jeep/rock Crawler Guy. My last jeep was a 99 TJ with a 5.3 supercharged drive train out a 2002 chevy truck. Had way too much $$ in that one. Now I'm married so no more spending like that!!!! Now I'm just starting a frame off restoration on a 72 Blazer and just purchased a 98 chevy 2500 with a blown 6.5L turbo deisel. Those are the two trucks that I will have lots of questions and need to buy lots of parts for.

Hi everyone, Just found this site in my searches for parts.

I am currently doing a daily driver resto/mod on a 1978 K5 4wd. I bought two 1978 trucks (one has a fully resto'd GM part body, the other came along for an interior but I changed plans) and one ragged out 1988 K5 plow truck and have been turing it into one bad ass 1978 K5, with a 1988 Tbi, O/D, part time transfercase/axles drivetrain.

I'll post a build thread somewhere on here and update with a link when I get this site figured out. I look forward to meeting some of you and hopefully finding some cool parts I need.

P.S. Looking for a soft top and roll bar! lol

First off you need 15 posts here to post pics, then you may also wanna' tone down the attitude a we bit. By comin' on the way you did you may not get much help. Just some advice and my opinion.

Hey everyone!

Hey everybody!!

The name's Dan. I'm new here. I don't have a K5 yet, or any sort of GM truck for that matter (I have a 92 Firebird Formula with a 350 TPI, at least I stayed in the family ) but I am currently in the process of looking for a nice 87 or newer K5 to use as a daily driver for the times of the year where my Firebird is off the road. Something big and tough for hauling gear and my friends and stuff, and something that doesn't flinch at the site of off road trails and stuff even in stock form.

Kinda tough finding one that isn't too pricey or completely rusted apart, but I'm still trying! haha

If anybody comes across any for sale in my neck of the woods (upstate NY, Ulster County area, south of Albany) then let me know because I'm in the market! haha.

Glad to be a member of the club and I hope that when I do finally get myself a hold of a K5, I'll be able to come here for loads of advice and tips. Thanks!!

Introduction

Welcome to CK5, stop in and say hello, this is a great place to make your first post and tell us a little about yourself/truck. :D
My name is Mike Burgin, l live in Farmington, NM.
I was recently given a 1984 CK5 Blazer due to a slight rollover. I just started work on it, will give it a canvas top for the cab. I have an extra shell for it, which I am going to cut a square out of the top and also install a canvas top. Currently it has 33's on it, and all stock with a 305, which I may replace in a year or so with a 350 or larger engine. It has a lot of potential, needs some body work, can't wait to get it going. To get it home, it had not been started in 10 years. Me and my buddy, Richard, got it started and I drove it approx 15 miles to my home with no windshield, just goggles. Had fun, it ran decent, it's going to be a cool ride. When I am done, I will have a snow camo paint job on it. It's going to be a great trail vehicle, perfect for taking camping, and having fun with my family.

howdy

Hi y'all I am Justice from The Dalles Oregon. I just purchased a 1977 K5 with a 400sbc, turbo350, NP203 with the part time kit, Dana44 front (not sure if it has a floating locker in it or not), GM 12bolt rear (still not sure if it has a locker in it either). I am well schooled in building Jeeps (specializing in TJ and YJs) and 73-79 fords and dodges. I am a machinist who makes most of my noncritical parts. I lived and worked in Texas for the last 13 years, before returning to my home town to further my education. I am looking forward to working with everybody here on CK5 trading ideas and possibilities.
