I have been around CK5 since 05 but phased out a bit. but im back into the auto thing again and in process of rebuilding my K5. its like starting all over again so the newby questions are dying to come out. i have absolutley no resources, ideas, or direction to go... other than to strip it down piece at a time. any links, manuls, or resources where i can begin would be helpful. I will read up alot on the forums and slowly get back in.

again. im glad to be back

New guy from Basalt Colorado

Tim here! great site here, lots of helpful info,I recently picked up a 1974 GMC Jimmy its the one with the full lift off hard top,I live about 7 miles from Off Road Design so its handy for pickin up parts:D.
The Jimmy is unusually rust free, with just a wee bit of cancer above the rear wheel arches, had to throw in a fresh 350 to replace the ill 400.
Currently gathering parts for the Jimmy,So far I have a set of chevy 1 ton SRW axles,a set of superlift 8 inch springs, saving up for a the ORD cross-over steering, steering brace and one of those fancy steering boxes.
I'll try and post some pics later.
Cheers
Tim

Well here it goes, My name is Jason but everyone calls me Big J. I live in Queencreek Az. and have lived here for 21 years. I have owned my 79 Jimmy for 17 years now, it use to be my DD until 8 years ago and now it is my play toy. I grew up in Page Az. aka. Lake Powell Az. always been 4 wheeling with my dad, brothers and freinds, so it was my time in the 1980's to 4 wheel on my own. Page was a great place to learn how to 4 wheel, I couldn't asked for a better place to learn, I have been doing it ever since and won't stop any time soon. A friend Pat told me about this site and decied to join. So now I just say HELLO to all the K5ers out there.

1994 gmc yukon. i drive it like i stole it. and i have to admit that i may not be much of a contribution to your forum unless your readers need to know how to get stuck. john deere's are good removal tools. i prefer mud to rock crawlin' and sometimes it just won't rain here in texas. my yukon is basic - 285's on rs5000's with a warn winch. i know you were hopin' for a k5 but all i have is an sl. i came to your site looking for info on transfer case's, axles, and transmissions. i'm guessing i have a np241, gm 10bolt corporate, and l460e. and i talk too much.

Hey y'all! I'm Steve. Currently live near Charlotte, NC ... but originally from Long Island (yeap, I'm a "damn yankee" :wink1: ).
I've had several full size Chevys in the past, but sold my last one (an 81 Blazer) over 10 years ago. It's time to get back to Chevy trucks!

So..... I've just picked up an '86 K-5 Blazer with a TBI 350. Mechanics are good ... body is gonna' need a bit 'o rust repair. But nothing I haven't done before. I'm definately looking forward to restoring/customising this new rig! :D

Howdy,

Jon here from western suburbs of Chicago.

Just picked up a 90 k5 silverado, all stock, little rust.

Lookin' on gettin her done for some boggin and trailing.

I'm Greg, I'm 19 and have been wanting a K5 since i graduated HS in 2009, and after one year of undergrad work I went out and got one. So i have a '87 Jimmy, Factory paint with only a few blimishes, two owner, and only 55k miles, has never been lifted over its two inch add a leaf kit, and has GM running boards the owner said was from 1989, so guess it's never been abused. I'm not planning on making it into a crawler or anything, more of a driver and something i can fun in until i finish my degree. Want to get a soft top, some r/t's between 35 and 37 inch, and some interior changes to make it weather proof. then just have a good time.

Glad to be on here

-Greg

87 Blazer and 76 Chalet camper shell for sale in West Virginia

I have a 1987 Chevy Blazer in excellent condition with good paint, no rust, custom interior, 350 4spd standard transfer case. Also have a 1976 Chalet camper shell that is in pretty good condition for the age, but needs cleaned up due to sitting for a long time. It can be cleaned up and be turned into a nice one. I am wanting to sell both the Blazer and the camper shell, whether they be sold together or separate. I think that if someone wanted to, they could paint the camper shell to match the Blazer and the 2 of them together would be a very sharp ride. I am located in Davisville, WV if anyone is interested.

Howdy,
My name is Tim Barr. I am addicted to green iron and that addiction after 3 Dueces, an M715 and a fleet of trailers has led to a 1985 M1009. My wife is convinced I am a sick sick man. I keep telling her I can stop buying them anytime I want to. I just don't want to.

Anyway, the 1009 has a few issues that I am playing with to fix while getting to know it. Nothing major though.

I was really excited to find this site because the M715 web site is holding a national gathering this August in Buena Vista, CO. I took the M715 there in 2008 and fell in love with the area. I can't wait to go back. Anybody in the area, come on by and lets go trail riding. We will be based at the KOA there in Buena Vista from August 8th until August 15th.
