Introductions & Greetings

Hello form Kentucky...

Hey Guys,

My name is Matt. I live in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. I am the proud owner of a 1982 Chevy 1-ton, 4x4 with Military style paint and Military troop seat mounted in the bed. It is mainly a toy, but occasionally I use it to haul fire wood, or scrap metal. Currently it rides on 36" x 12.50" x 16.5" Goodyear Wrangler RTs mounted on the original Hummer wheels. Future upgrade include a 10k which, front & Rear lockers, small suspension lift.

Matt

Hello from Mount Dora, Florida. I just recently bought a 87 Blazer K5 and love it. I am not sure what I will be doing with it yet.

Hi, I just bought a 91 K5 prety much stock, I paid $550 for it with a freshened up 350 with all paper work done on it.. But i am trying to post a question and just curious why I cant... any ideas?

89 k5 project

Just bought an 89 k5 blazer a couple months ago, turning it into a mud truck. Bought it as a roller. building a 350 bored .060 over, .409 lift Comp cam, ported and polished heads, aluminum intake, 670 cfm throttle body, 700r4 w/2800rpm stall converter for it.
Lift - 3" blocks for rear, new 3" leafs for front
32 x 11.5 x 15 Courser M/T's

My question, this is the first Blazer Ive ever seen that has "quad front shocks" (2 shocks per side front only)
Its got the Silverado trim package, but was this some kind of special option, or is this even a factory option?

Hello all,

I'm a long-time gearhead but first time 4x4 owner. I've been looking for either a quad cab dually or a suburban for a while now and finally had a decent Burb drop into my lap. 1987 barn door, 350/700r4/208/10bolts (G80). I picked it up for peanuts because it had a nasty vibration from a worn out front driveshaft that probably none of the shadetrees around here could figure out. Somebody changed every u-joint in the truck trying to find it. Anyway, it's got a 2" spring lift (I think) but with a worn out front spring, so I may get a 4" RC kit, or I might try re-arching the worn spring. Can't go too high with the burb cuz the wife and kids have to ride in it too. 4" and 35s will be plenty for me.

My brother's old '89 GMC Blazer had the quad shock front systems...I don't know how rare it is, but there are Blazers out there! My Grandparent's old '85 GMC Sierra Classic 2500 had them as well! None of my trucks have had them though!

Pretty common option. I have had three that had it. They were all ordered for the heavier towing capability. I don't know how much difference there was for towing capacity if any but that is what it stems from.

Not rare. Most people here will tell you to just ditch them and go with a nice single shock on each side. And welcome to ck5.:waytogo:

Plus shock technology has improved quite a bit since the 80's:saweet:

hello all, been lerking around for a lil bit and now i have been looking at some blazers around here. found a 73 full convertable that really caught my eye but needs some interior work to make it safe for my kids to ride in.

Looking for an excellent 72 4x4. Thought this might be a good place for some info. Had a 72 when I was a kid and loved it. It's time for another!

84' Blazer out of San Antonio. 6inch suspension lift with 3inch body lift. 39inch Mickey Thompsons. 350 Motor, 700R trans NP205. Currently redoing the interior.

Hello my names Jared I'm from pueblo colorado. I just bought a 1981 blazer with a 305 in it from the car dealership I work at for 800. Its in rough condition body wise but runs great. It looks like it has a 4inch body lift. It has a reman edlebrock 4barel carb with long tube headers.I'm going to restor it and make it an off road beast.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Hi. New guy from SoCal here. Been looking for a long time but never really had anything to add.
I did just get another K5. Think this makes number 16. Had them all '69 thru '91. 2wd and 4wd. Gas, diesel blah blah blah...
Newest one is an '89 Chevy Silverado. Bone stock other than some 32x11.50 BFG A/Ts. Only has 130K on it. Spent it's entire life in the high desert. Zero rust.
Finished some issues with the TBI and seems to run good now. Still has some other little bugs to work out.
Anyways, looking forward to contributing where I can.
Thanks.

New to Ck5

Hello Everyone I'm new to the site and love all the helpfull info. I'm in Lubbock, Tx and go to Texas Tech. My Blazer is a 90' 4x4 with a 4" rough country lift and 33" tires, but that is changing. Just finished a heater core replacement on the truck, and couldn't have done it without the info threads.
