Introductions & Greetings

Noobie

Hey folks,
I just recently purchased my first K5. It's a 1976 that was converted to a 305, I will eventually drop a 350 back in it but the 305 was recently rebuilt so I will enjoy the slightly better gas prices for now. Anyway as I mentioned this is my first K5 and will be spending much time trying to restore/preserve it. I have found LMC is a good place to start but if you guys could help me in this endevour I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks
Jason

Wrecked

I'm looking for a frame for my 76 GMC K15. I have all parts to restore but wrecked it before I could start restore. What other frames will be direct replacement. 76K15 short bed step side? Thanks love the forums and already learned a ton

Sucks about your rig! Hopefully the folks here can help you get the project back together. Good luck.

Charles here in Ft. Collins, just picked up an 83 6.2, great mechanics just needs a little cosmetic help since I'll be driving it regularly. After a new tailgate I'll be painting it. I'll get some before and afters up soon hopefully!

Seeking info

Im Gordon, I have a pretty open budget and a $200 87 burb that I bought off my neighbor in college because he blew it up like a dumbass for a new car.

I am looking at different future engine possibilities, no smaller than the current bowtie 350, but probably an inline diesel. I have a 4bt that I was going to drop into a 4Runner but who knows.

Currently bolting on an NV4500 and put a few inches of lift on it and a full set of CUcV axles under it.

Switched toys.

Whats up all, Glad to be here. Long story short. I have had quite a few chevy trucks over the years mostly for work duty, my last one was an 86 chevy short bed 4x4. I put a little bit of money and work into it to make it more fun and better for trails and exploring. Alas it just wasn't what i was looking for, mainly because i put buckets in it and only two people at a time could ride around in it, and i have a son and a daughter that love to go on trail rides with me and my wife. Then my brother offered to trade me his 87 jimmy with a stroker motor but no other mods for my shortbed chevy with a medium list of mods, i jumped on the deal, problem solved and i always wanted a blazer or jimmy any way. My brother got the better deal but i make more money then him :D. The jimmy fits me better so i am happy. Now let the mods begin:waytogo:. Allready have the transfer cases for a doubler now just need to find a D60 for the front and i will be good to go. hard to find a D60 front around here, and then i think back 15 years ago i sold a 1979 1 ton 4x4 for 500 bucs, wish i had that truck now:doah:. Oh well i will not bore any body any further.

Ok so Im a new guy here. My truck is an 1985 GMC Jimmy Sierra Clasic. Its the fullsize bad boy with the 4 wheel drive. Its got an 8" lift and deep dish centerline Pacer wheels. Its a total project ruck except for the fact that as far as I know I have to keep it stock due to the fact that I live in California and it is saddly not a federal truck. If anyone out there knows of the cheap tricks to get my truck more power, better fuel econmy and still pass smog please let me know. I NEED HELP. Thanks. :k5:

Hey everyone. New here, sorta, iv been a memeber for sometime now and finally decided it was time to become a supporting memeber so i can reap the benefits this site has to offer. Well i am 25, i am active duty ARMY with 6 years in, and 2 deployments under my belt. I am stationed at Ft Stewart GA. My MOS(job) is a Metal Worker/Welder. I am married, no kids. I drive a 1988 K5 Silverado the truck has only 80k miles and is my DD. My upgrades are in my signature so i want go into that. But my future plan is a 14b FF rear/Dana 60 front with 4.56s, cross over steering, and coil over/4 link suspension front and rear from ORD, custom front and rear bumper, and winches front and rear. I plan to make a very capable off road/trail rig, that is still nice enough to take out and show off, and DD. Well thank you for having me. I hope learn alot here and be great addition to your familly.:waytogo:

Thanks but that isn't all that easy. California smog rules are prolly stricter here than anywhere else. I heard I can swap exhaust manifolds and the serpentine kit from a mid 1990s truck but dont know if its all that legal I think I just need to move back to Arvada, CO and get it over with!:doah:
