Introductions & Greetings

New to forum and Blazers!

Hello all, my name is Israel and you can call me IZ for short. I just recently purchased a 76 K5 blazer. I'm new to these trucks and look forward to working on it. Is has a 350 with an auto tranny. Unfortunately reverse went out for a drink and never came back :dunno: . The previous owner said it had bad rings. I suspected bad valve seals since it only smoked at startup. I checked compression and all cylinders were at about 120. I changed the seals and smoke went away but now cylinder 8 has 90 compression. I now can't figure out what's wrong. Hopefully I can learn from you guys and and get ideas for my project. I plan to build it to wheel it!

can I get a hell ya for convertible trucks!

First time k5 owner long time GM lover (I'm Perry sure I bleed Chevy orange) I just picked up a 71 k5 which is quite the basket case, previous 2 owners have left it in various stages is disarray, but I'm committed to bringing it back to life for the first time in I'm guessing 15+ years. I have a 550 ft lb 454 waiting to inject some life into this rig. Motor is currently in my 79 Malibu (for sale here: http://fortcollins.craigslist.org/pts/4719155014.html ) I just love the idea of a convertible truck! I know I'm missing a ton of pieces for this truck so I'll be relying on you guys to help me out. I'll be building this rig as a mild trail truck, home improvement hauler, and car show cruising hot rod.

Hello - I am new to the forum and new to a 1986 Chevy Suburban K10 with a 350 engine. Does anyone know how to make the brake lights work and the highbeam light turn on, on the dash. :doah:

Welcome to CK5 (both of you!)

You'll get far more responses to a technical question if you start a new thread in the garage section of the forum. That is where folks look for technical questions to answer. :)

I will say, though, that more information will be required to get a diagnosis...

Guess I did this backwards...

I've already started a thread in the driveway section. I've always wanted a K5 since I was a kid. Lived in Texas for a while built a motor and aquired a few parts here and there. Moved back to my hometown in Louisiana. Looked on craiglist and found a 79 Jimmy with no motor, 40's(dry rotted ground hawgs) 3 in. body and 3 in, suspension lift for $1,000 with a clear title. Went picked it up(bad experience) brought it home and started tearing it down.

I've got a 454 bored .030 .010 dome pistons, 781 heads, 268 comp cams, new crank, rods, etc...465/205, stock axles for now. Just found a 14 bolt and 52's on craigslist. By this time next year, I plan on having it caged, painted, ac/heat, etc...

Hello friends, I am currently building a 73 blazer. I have owned it for approx. 14 years and it has been sitting for about the last seven. I have been surfing this forum lately, building the motivation to get started. It has a Sb 400,t400 trans,np205,dana44 front,12 bolt rear. I have a 5.3L with a 4l60e trans ready for swap as well as a never ending list of mods I want to install. Thanks for a great site to connect all of us!

New Guy.

Name's Bond.

I like trucks. Chevy trucks. Had a bunch, currently holding down a stock 95 4x4 Tahoe. And a Pontiac G8 GT hot hod. And possibly building a TJ. :dunno: I know a lot, done a lot, been a lot of places, Michigan is home, Florida is where I reside. USAFR 2T171. I'm a driver.

I don't say much.

Checking in from the USVI. I drive a toyota. I want to drive a old chevy but that has not happened yet.

Hey, fellas. I'm Chris from Florence, Mississippi. I've been knocking around this forum for a couple years (I think) and have decided to get a little more active. I'll start a build thread and get you guys caught up to where I am currently with the never ending story... I mean, build.
