Just dropping in to say hi. Picked up a K5 Blazer thats been chopped into a pickup last week. Running a smokey 6.2 and a bit rough round the edges.

Put a gew pics up in the driveway, oh and I am over in the UK so its a bit unusual to see a K5 over here :)

Cheers,

MM

Introduction

Well hello there everyone. I'm new to the GM family as of last fall, and I don't see myself going back to a Ford anytime soon... I have owned my Ford Bronco for 13 years now, and I finally got my first K5 (which is what I was really looking for when I got the bronco). Either way I have spent the last four years designing and using different cab over campers on my Bronco and I have finally found the right set up. I picked up the 1973 Blazer from a gentleman near Conifer, CO last November. He had picked up the rig from a family after the owner (owned and maintained meticulously by said owner/ professional mechanic). I'm really not to familiar with the 350, but it sure has been easy to work on and runs like a champ, way more guts than the old 302. Although the three speed auto trans isn't the greatest on the highway, this thing has hauled my two place snowmobile trailer from Denver, Vail, Steamboat, Jackson, and even Montana this winter in search of camping and good snow. My next move is potentially looking at putting a cummins 12 valve or possibly a 4BT motor. I am without a doubt getting in over my head on this, so I plan on being on the forum quite a bit this year. Potential work includes a full motor trans swap, along with some serious body/ suspensions work, hell why stop there, I'm gonna be holding onto this thing for a while. Pictures to follow soon!

Welcome to the club! There are several Cummins conversions on here, and I will definitely want to follow your build if you decide to go that route. I like inline engines. :D

Hey guys, just bought my first K5 Blazer with my dad as a project to work on. It is a 1986 K5 with a 350, not positive on the tranny yet, and at least a 6 inch lift. The truck runs great. It is currently sitting on bald 37s. We are unsure if we should go with 35s, because of expenses of 37s, or bite it and get 37s anyways. It will be a fun project for me and my dad.

Thanks man! The stripes will be coming off when the sun comes out. They are just stickers that were laid on over the paint and are starting to peel off. I will definitely get in there so I can soak up all the great advice that you guys will have.

New to site. 83 K20 w/6.2 I need complete wiring diagram

Hi, I'm working on my truck and would like a complete wiring diagram for it. 1983 Chevy K20 with a 6.2 J The water in the fuel light is one and there is not water in the fuel..new filters and all. I think it maybe a short of some kind. If anyone could help i would appreciate it. It only has 66,000 miles on it. I have bedlined the entire truck, so i would like to bring it back to 100% in all other ways. Thank you. yes it has dual tanks.

Post up a new thread in the Garage section if you need technical answers (you won't get much technical help in this thread). I don't have the wiring diagrams, but I'll bet that someone on here will have them. I have worked a fair amount on my dual-tank 1983 6.2 K10. On that one (with spin-on fuel filter), each tank has its own WIF sensor. Does switching between tanks affect the issue? (If not, we will assume the issue is downstream of the tank switch).

Oh yeah. Welcome to CK5. That's a nice setup you have. :)

Howdy! Nice to see someone from AK. :thumb:

I'm curious about your location, though. Where do you drive from Juneau?
