Introductions & Greetings

hey, i'm new too this forum and joined for helpful tips and tricks for the future. I'm 15 years old and recently purchased a stock 1980 k5 silverado edition (80k miles). So far im looking to purchase and install a 2 inch suspension lift and 33x12.5x15 goodyear wrangler mt/r's, and LMC dual exhaust with turbo mufflers. If anyone has any information on either lifts or dual exhaust drop me a line and i will greatly appreciate it :waytogo:

Hi all, my name is Derek. I live in Huntsville, Al. Just bought a 1990 k5 blazer diesel so I will be on here often posting questions and asking for advice!

Looks like I have to redo the brakes, fix a diesel leak, fix cruise control, and then start cutting some rust out of the tailgate hinge area and rebuild that to hold up the tailgate. Then I will look at some moderate lift projects.

Looks like a picture to me.

I'm jealous. What are your plans? If it were mine, I would just ditch the running boards and enjoy it.

Plan so far is to research how to fix the rusting tailgate hinge area problem, my tailgate is barely attached to a rusted frame member.

Also yesterday I blew a brake line just under the master cylinder that I need to replace.

Cruise control doesn't work, parking brake light is on and it doesn't work. Probably needs brake work on all four wheels.

Also has a diesel fuel drip leak at the injector just over the left side exhaust downpipe.

The inside is pristine condition. AC works, which makes me happy.

Even with the diesel fuel drip I got 16mpg towing my Prius home when I bought the truck, 8 hour drive. Leak started sometime in the final hour. Brakes were weak with pulling in the right rear when stopping hard.
