Introductions & Greetings

Hello all new to the site, I have an 84 k5 that I just installed an ord shackle flip and 4 inch leafs with an 8 inch leaf up front with greasealed bushing sway bar disconnect and bielstein shocks all the way around, has a cammed 355 and a turbo 400 bolted to a np208c. Love the truck. Looking for a good thread on pinion angle in relation to lift got some new noises around 50 mpH upon deceleration that I would like to work out. The site this far has been awesome thank you

That's a good chunk of lift. Do you have a double cardan joint in your rear driveshaft?

Martin

No I do not and I am wondering if that is something I need to buy is that common with a 8 inch lift. There is a new noise when I punch it or decelerate around 55mph which I think is due to my pinion angle I moved the shims on the leafs since with the fat part of the shim to the front of the vehicle and the noise is less but still there.

Welcome! I used to work with a guy from Houma, La many moons ago.

Hello guys, just getting started here and I'm from Canada. I have a few GM vehicles, probably not anything you guys would be interested in (02 Sierra Duramax ext cab long 4x, 07 C1500HD, 15 Sierra SLE 1500 crew long 4x)... But I am working towards re-acquiring some older stuff again now that I've got some other things in life sorted out.

my names Gabe, I live in Baxter Tn and I'm a senior in highschool. Bought a 1984 k10 when I was 15 and traded it for a 1990 k5 with the 350 tbi last year. It's been a long time coming but I'm finally getting it into working condition and I'm excited to have some help with this project from some more k5 guys.

Cool! EFI is a nice upgrade. You have pictures?

Welcome to CK5!

Edit: I see that GWeakland already beat me to the the punch.

Hey guys, I spent a lot of time reading and researching on here before purchasing my latest toy. I picked up this '87 Jimmy last week and am looking forward to making it my own. This one is really clean and I ended up flying in to get it and driving it 500 miles home. I wanted something that the wife was comfortable with me riding my kids around in and something that didn't require a lot of work to get started. Here's the specs:

1987 GMC Jimmy
151,000 Miles
350 TBI/700R4/NP208
All mechanicals are 100% stock and clean! Only thing added to electrical system is stereo and lights
Working R12 A/C
Rough Country 4" lift (Springs and blocks)
35" BFG A/Ts
Soft top & hard top
Only rust is below the battery on the inner fender. Underside of this thing is immaculate!

I've got to do a few little things to get started. I'm going to do the window relay mod this weekend and I've got a set of Warn hubs waiting to go in it. The rear seat belts don't always retract and I'm planning on putting standard lap belts in. After that, I'll probably get the blocks out of the back and start getting to the more serious and noticeable stuff.

This site has already been invaluable as I was searching and I hope I can contribute as I get into this thing!
