Introductions & Greetings

New guy here. I've owned quite a few square body chevys but never really 'built' any. Just picked up my first k5 project. Previous owner started building it for off road rig but not enough time to finish. My family is growing so my off road rig has to also. Have real big plans for this blazer! It'll be a sweet crawler when done, I'm sure ill start a build thread eventually. Lots of work needs done by spring time.

Very cool build man! Make sure to start a build thread so we can follow along.

Hey everybody, my names Matt and I found the squarebody body style by looking for an “EMP proof” truck that I could use for a bugout vehicle. I fell in love with the body style and I now own a 1983 GMC Jimmy and I’m restoring it with my dad with a few mods there along the way. It’s got a 6” lift and 37” military tires. It originally had a 6.2L diesel but the guy that owned it before me swapped a 305 into it, with a Holly 700 double pumper carb. It’s got it’s querks but that’s why I love it. I’m really looking forward to this place.

New guy here. Jim, I'm in Arizona, East Valley area. I bought a 77 K5 4x4 earlier this year for about $1500 so as you can imagine I'm having to replace/fix a lot of stuff. I thought that shopping for Chevy 4x4 truck stuff would be easy, but it seems like every "4x4" shop is actually just a Jeep store...so I found myself here looking at dashes, and figured I'd join. I'd add a photo, but I have no idea how to, and I gues I'd have to get premium membership as well....lol

Hello!
I'm Kris. I'm currently in Albuquerque, NM.
I decided to join since I've been asked on several occasions if I was a member on here.
I have an 88 Suburban I've been playing with over the last two years. Currently, it has an lq4/700r4/208, d60/d70hd 4.56, h1 24 bolts w/ 37s. It's bobbed 27" and dove nosed 16". We're in the process of finishing up the rear 4 link, building radius arms for the front, then it's getting coilovers all around with a cantilever setup in the rear. There's a bunch more little stuff, but that's the jist of it. Once I make some more time to sit down, I'll start a build thread.
Here's a pic pre-axle swap.

Nice bob job, can't say I have seen one done like that before as most cut the rear top part off.

Dove nosed?

Hi, just found & joined the forum. I have a 1989 K5 & live in Manchester UK. I bought it 4 years ago from a guy in Georgia U.S.A. It was advertised on Ebay, so I bought it off pictures. The guy said it needed paint on the roof & the hood & had a cracked grill. He didn't mention the 3 out of 4 bald tyres & worn steering parts. But it is all sorted now & runs superb.

So two questions, 1 is why can’t I make a profile picture and 2 being what do I need to do to be able
To post on threads? It’s telling me I can’t

Man I should check in here more often to welcome you folks! Sooooo... Welcome to the site everyone! You’re in good hands now... trust me. First thing we need to do is cut the fenders on the 15k mile blazer. Just get it over with now. Time to rip off the bandaid!

Hello Everyone,
I'm Kim and that's my son Derek in my avatar image. It all started with a few drinks with the neighbor one night, ok several nights...how could anyone turn down a 1990 Blazer for 300 bucks, right? After sitting for 13 years he wanted it to have a new life and knew it would make a great father son project. This endeavor isn't about financial sense, but about fun and spending time with my son before graduation and maybe learning more than what his IPhone can teach him.

I want to thank you all, as I have learned so much already from this site and its members.
Kim

Having a Father Son project is one of the reasons I bought my current Blazer, have fun!

Not so much an intro, but more a welcome back!! Had to get rid of my last blazer due to severe rust issues. Finally picked up an 86 yesterday that's already part way to where I want. Just needs some body love and an lq4/4l80e swap.
