Introductions & Greetings

Didnt really know how or where to post this, new to site. I have had several K5 blazers and an old 1978 Jimmy, but my newest find is a 2 wheel drive Blazer badged K5 Cheyenne Edition, been in a barn for the last 21 years. In the process of going all thru it to make it a daily driver. Everyone I talk to says there is no such thing 2wd K5, but its all original one owner. with original Chevrolet window sticker and documents in glove box. Vin # CCL186F128474 Whats the truth??

Awesome score there! And as stated, they are factory built trucks. Very desirable, more desirable to lots of people than the 4x4 ones.

Should I restore like original with white wall tires or upgrade it with mags and white letter tires? Would you guys believe it cranked up and I was driving around in yard on 21 year old gas, till the tires popped.

No idea what a Don Allen edition is but it appears to be an '80 based on the grille / headlamp set up. :thumb:

Hello, my name is lucas im the son of rdn2blazer (robert) who has been a member since ‘04. Im turning 18 in a few months and will be getting my license, so i figured its time to get my own ck5 account. Ive grown up with ck5 in my life since i can remember and i think its time i joined the community. I grew up working in the garage with my dad on his k5 and endless other projects and over the years my interest has grown. Id love to learn more from and participate in this community here. I know there are so many bad ass rigs and people to enjoy and i cant wait to dive in. I know theres a lot of cool build threads and id like to have my own and be a true part of the family here at CK5 so i can give back to everyone who has helped us so much, as well as future k5 lovers.

My dad and i found a beautiful ‘73 k10 which is the same year as my dads k5 and wed really like to get it as a father son project truck for myself. Its being sold by a father son duo who also had it as a project but unfortunately couldn’t finish it, and want it to have a good home. Im sure as some of you might know my dad has been battling lung cancer for going on 8 years and thats caused some financial struggles for us. I really dont like asking for money but this is a beautiful opportunity and truck that i really dont want to lose out on for myself and my dad. Ive started a go fund me to possibly help us get this truck because i really want to build a truck with my dad and start a father son build thread while i still can. Were scraping together all the money we can to get it but any and all help would be appreciated. I know this community is very loving and supporting of us and we’d appreciate any help, be it financial, words of wisdom, prayers, support, love, and advice. Its all welcome and i look forward to being a part of this community whether or not this truck works out for us. Hello Everyone. Bob here in AZ. I have an 88 Jimmy and she's my dependent child. She sits on a 4" lift and 33/ 12.50s. Did an L59 (5.3l LSX)/ 4L60E swap a few years back. Have done custom grill, brush guard, spare carrier, rock sliders, on board air, seats, all LED lighting etc.. etc.. Wanted to introduce myself and chat with fellow K5ers.

Howdy everyone I’m Joseph, 26 from Texas. I had a 1988 k1500 that I absolutely cherished and it belonged to my dad. I started fixing her up just in time for a truck tractor semi-trailer to pull out in front of me and help me total it. After living with a broken heart I noticed the only thing that seemed to make me happy was looking at K5’s. Nothing can replace my pops truck. But I’m in the market for a k5 to fill the void. Looking to make it a show truck/towing/slight beach going. For now just doing my research to find out what year I want. Any help on what sounds up my alley would be great.

Welcome Joseph!

I think if I was in the market for a truck, I'd make a list of what I want our need on the truck, and work from there

What part of Texas?

Yeah, it’s going to be more of an enjoyable truck. So I’ll just use it for showing off at the Walmart , and towing my BBQ rig for competitions.

I’m from Houston, but work brought me down to south Texas. Near Corpus Christi

Hi everyone, long time lurker here and I finally joined. I live in Lincoln, NE.
Here's some previous Blazers and Jimmy's I've owned.

The yellow '74 Blazer was my first truck when I turned 15. Brought it home from Fort Collins, CO around 1997 and kept it until 2001.

The '72 Jimmy I bought in 2015, a few months before my second son was born, and I then sold it when I realized I had zero time to work on it. I at least got it running (454) good enough that the new owner was able to pull it up onto a trailer.

The black/silver '84 was a factory diesel, with a 6.5 turbo diesel swapped in. I bought it non running, and then spent 2 months chasing issues on it. Sold it when I got tired of it.

The blue/silver '87 was too nice for me. One of my kids kids put a (small) scratch on the side, and I knew it had to go away before it got beat up. I regret selling it, but it was probably for the best.

I currently own this 1990 Jimmy. I sold the camper off the back of it, found a tailgate, and I'm getting ready to order a soft topper. It's got 89,000 miles on it and is pretty nice, but not too nice that I have to worry about it.
