Hi All. I'm from Southern NJ, in the process of fixing up my 1975 Chevy Blazer, 350, auto, full-time 4X4. bought the truck around 1996 from North Carolina and had it garaged till now, does have some rust in the quarters but the floors/frame are not too bad- unlike any other 1975 vehicle from my current area (South Jersey)- they would be piles of rust at this point. Will no doubt do complete full quarters as I hate body filler work. (not good at it)
and I do have some rust quite high (just under the fiberglass roof) so full quarters would solve a lot of issues. Also, my doors are not that great, does anyone make replacement doors (73'-75' Blazer) or do I have to cut-down the window frames from a Chevy pickup? Thanks.

always keep in mind, any aftermarket panel, qrters, ESPECIALLY doors, may need some love... the Taiwan 9 yr olds, don't always get it right.. :haha: need help, holla...

Sounds like a good project! Get a few more posts under your belt and get a build thread going on it. We like pics and that is a good way to keep track of what you got done and need to still do.

As far as replacement doors, you have to get truck doors and chop. Even back in the day when that Blazer was new, GM didn't offer a specific door. You bought a truck door and there were instructions on where to cut. Don't throw your old doors away as there are a couple of key little pieces that you'll need to transfer to the new doors.
 
Hey CK5 friends. First time post, long time lurker. I am in the Raleigh NC area. I have a neglected 1986 K5 I am pulling out this year. I originally purchased the K5 back in 2006, did some Uwharrie trail rides and Carolina ocean front camping trips, until broke my transmission torque converter and front axle gear. At the time I had acquired a Cummins 12v 5.9L and picked up a NV4500, NP205, and 14bsf. Long story short this truck has been sitting for over 14 years in a field. I am determined to get this truck back up and running this year. Hope to catch some of you guys around.

I'm not important, it's all about the rig..

1989 Jimmy. 3 owner, with 78k on the clock. It spent a majority of the years in Nevada where it was purchased new. Several years in North Carolina with the second owner and now me. All original drivetrain. I have replaced tires, shocks, springs, steering linkage, ball joints etc. New weatherstripping on doors and windows. New vinyl flooring. Soft Topper. It runs great and we love it as a family cruiser.

Greetings all! New to K5's and this forum but been wrenching/building vehicles for 35+ years. Still have my first car, 1969 Cougar with built a 460(won't do that again), to include a '69 Bronco Sport, '77 Trans AM, '95 Formula that has been drag raced since new and featured in GM High Tech Performance, and a '95 Firebird convertible for the Mrs. The barn is full, didn't need this Blazer but it's cool.

So I bought a 1 family owned 1978 4x4 with the Cheyenne package. 100% stock, quite a bit of rust on the rockers and bed sides, but frame is solid. They quit driving it around 2000 because steering was worn out. So far, Rough Country 2" lift springs and shocks all the way around. Replaced steering box with a Red-Head unit, new pump/hoses. Went through the fuel system, repaired the speedometer, new master cylinder, and built a healthy 406 small-block from some parts in the shop. I have driven it around 5000 miles since I bought this 9 months ago. Plan to drive it until I can pull the body for a full restore in a couple of years.

Fulltime job - aircraft maintenance superintendent at a local A-10 base. Been in the military for 34 years and plan to retire this fall.
