iroks in the mud???

I don't think they measure as wide as they are advertized. I know there is a guy on my local board running them on H1 wheels.

i've got BFG m/t's on my truck now, not so happy with them... they packed up more than the general m/t's i had on my truck last year...

i'm going to keep them for 'road use' and put my new 35/12.5-16 swamper SSR's on for mud... that i got for $75 last week... wooo...

I just helped a freind mount 47" pitbull growlers on a h1 rim they work just fine and they are like 21 wide so 16.5 on h1s fine

the h-1's are 8.25, but i just got off the phone with pitbull, and they said not to mount them on 8" wide rims, they would be giant balloons.

you got a pic of your buddies rockers on the h-1's? do they look ballooned, or are they ok?

hey thanks! i'm assuming they are the 16.5's, but what width rim on that toyota?

i'm still undecided.

39.5x16.50-16 rockers: i've read all the reviews i could find on the rockers, and seen nothing negative. all say they have good road manners, a higher max load than other comparable tires, and perform well on a wide variety of terrain. my only concern is the fact i'd be mounting them on my 8" wide rims.

39.5x13.50r-16 irok radials: mixed reviews, but tried and true swamper design. recommended size for my rims. 10ply load e radials. might have poor tread life compared to other meats.

The thornbirds are just too baddass for me, not ready for that level of awesomeness.

i'd rather go tsl's, but they don't make a 39.5 for a 16" rim, so that's why i'm considering the iroks.

what kind of life did you see out of your iroks? are they softer than my ssr's?

if the iroks are decent in the mud, I'll go with them, otherwise i'll have to buy new rims to run other tires. decisions decisions
The LTB is now offered in a 40" for a 16" wheel. That's what I'd go with

EDIT: just went back and read the rest of the posts. Yea I found out about that tire rule after I bought my 42s so Im kinda screwed there. I know a guy with a set of 38" tsls but they are for 15" wheels. Im pretty close to buying them and grinding my calipers just to have a set of tires for The Cliffs. If you go to The Badlands they don't have a tire size limit

i think i'm gonna call the cliffs, explain the situation, and see if they would let me in with the 40's. if so, hands down, i'll do the ltb's. i really liked my 34 ltb's, so i'm sure the 40's would be sweet.

the badlands is far from me, and without a tow rig (yet), i'm not too comfortable beating the truck all day to face a 3 hour ride at closing time.

p.m. me if you want to check out my local spot. in calumet city, some pretty nice trails, deep mud, and free. here's a pic from tuesday. (ya, i was stuck pretty bad)

thanks for looking out, but i called The Cliffs, explained the situation to the owner, and he said he'd let me slide on the 40's.

looks like i'll be running the 16/40 LTB's, a little wide for my rims, but we'll see how it goes....
