Irony's a bitch.

I lost my keys to my blazer. Searched for two weeks.. No luck. Bought new lock cylinder, switched it out then found my keys lying on the core support.

I only have door keys for a few of the vehicles I own.

Martin

I *think* my door locks all work. But most of them have never been used. So I've never come close to locking my keys inside a vehicle. I've had vehicles in the past that didn't come with door keys. Life went on without any issues.

Additionally, I own a CUCV. My understanding is that CUCVs all came with the same key pattern, and that any CUCV key would work in any other unmolested CUCV. And it's not like they blend into the crowd. So I have a high-profile, easily unlocked rig. Talk about vehicle security.

But again, I'm not sure that it will ever need to be locked. So I'm not overly worried about it.

Number 1 is funny. I loaned the Blazer to a neighbor so he could get some parts for his truck. 2 friends called and another neighbor stopped by to tell me somebody else was driving it.

Yeah. I would probably get the same thing if Big Blue was out cruising the streets without me. It's too hard to hide. An interested thief would hafta relocate the truck to some far-away city to pull off a heist.

my ignition cylinder is so worn it doesn't need a key. I don't bother locking the doors, it's not worth stealing.

Here in Colorado, there is a state law that you can not leave your car running with the key in the ignition unattended. Too many have been stolen. No problem with the Blazer, I srart it, take the key out and lock the doors. Nice and toasty when I get in.

Just about every Gm car or truck I have owned, had ignition lock cylinders worn enough to let you remove the key with the engine running...I find it handy, when I needed to open the trunk,or go back inside while the engine warms up,I'd just lock the doors and take the key with me..

I'd rather replace the stereo than the windows takes forever to get all the broken glass out, if ever. I have way more insurance on all of mine than they are worth, so I leave them unlocked. Go ahead and steal it I'll build a better one. :grind::weld::hack:
