3/4 ton status
Well last night I got the old CUCV to fire up, new glow plugs, new fuel shutoff solenoid, new fuel filter, and 5 gallons of diesel. She lives again, YAY. But now 2 injectors are leaking so I gotta get em rebuilt.

Anyway, I threw on the waterpump belt, fired it up, and let it run for about 30 mins, she runs good, though there is a noise that Im not sure about, underneath the truck. A quick glance shows the flexplate wiggling a little everytime it goes around, so Im thinkin maybe its cracked and makin the noise. Ya cant hear the noise from in front of the truck.

The diesel has very aggressive igniton event pulses. When each cylinder fires you get a momentary velocity spike. i does take it's toll...mostly on balancers and flexplates. That's also why the diesel TC is bolted up with 6 bolts instead of three.
Definitely worth checking IMO.
