OK bash away........
http://tellico.off-road.com/wwwthreads_uploads/1456308-HPIM0535.JPG I've had a couple of K20's that blew front u joints with axle shafts, and ate tires as fast as i could buy them. Other than that a couple tough trucks.
I am a Chevy guy, always have been. You can get bashing about any brand, FordvsChevy is my fave. I got into this 68 Jeepster because it was my dads' when he was still able to use it. I've rebuilt the drivetrain, (yup myself) and have been very pleased with the performance of the stock pieces(although midly modified to my tastes, like lockrights and disc brakes, like many of you do to your vehicles too) Its a valuable piece of my Dads and my mechanical connection, we've shared through the years. And most fullsizers are even quick to comment on the uniqueness of it, and like it. The "Jeep thing" is the comraderie that goes with the vehicle, same as the "fullsize thing", that is shared on this website. Oh by the way a good one I like is "If I wanted a Hummer, I would have called your sister"
Now that I have another K5, my goal is more power, more strength, and more use of the vehicle. I don't think the stock K5 would give me the thrill that it will modified, and wanting more is why I'm not modifying the Jeep. Now if you want to talk ugly Jeeps, take a look at a 72-73 AMC Jeep Commando(aka bullnose) WTF? My Jeep is fun for what it is, but can't hold a candle to a healthy small block, and a heavy foot. It does however, perform very well for what it is.
Comparing it to a full size is like comparing a 283 to a 496. Depends on what ya want to do.
OK fire away........
