I've lost motivation to work on the Burb.

If I were you ... I would work on the tires first. Then you'll want to drive it. So you'll have to do the exhaust. Then you'll have to do the pinholes. Then you'll want to do the stereo. So it will naturally all come together.

How long does it take to put those wheels on? Huh? huh? What's stopping you? Go spend and hour and weld them or whatever, and slap those suckers on and take it for a drive! :D

I'm super motivated at the moment. I just don't have my blazer :( Someone else is touching it.

Can I come by and work on someone elses blazer? Just a little touching, it wont get out of hand.

i feel your pain brother. after i did the 2500hd ive drug my feet on everything else. I found out that heat is my biggest aggrevator and i have problems with juggling all my hobbies.

Money plays some part in this aswell.

youll get around to it. :thumb:

Ok ok if you must you may touch my blazer. I blew a line to the heater core last night so you can fix that and clean up my now lime green engine lol

Im going to try and get the exhaust welded tonight. The cat I took off, when looking through it looks like the one I got from Iceman. I can see though it, Dont know what else to look for though. Anyway. Weld the cat on and smog tomorrow. Hope it passes. This will be the 3rd time.

Jeff what grade fuel are you using? Lower grade fuels (87 vs 91) will burn more completely in our smog motors. You can also use some exhaust rap on the cat and the pipe leading up to it. It will raise the temp of the exhaust and make it test cleaner. Take the truck for a good hard drive just before the test, again to raise the temps of the exhaust. Just some thoughts to help you pass the smog test.

When you not actually doing anything.... Let your mind go to what its going to be like to actually Drive it. Think about how it sits under you and how high on the road you feel. The sound of the exhaust, and tires rolling on the road.
The feeling of accomplishment when your putting gas in it and the kid next to ya has his snotty drooling face stuck to the back windows of his folks car in total amazement of what you built. Knowing that some day he will build something just as bitchen as that!

After a few minutes of that shake off the dream and go to the garage and get your tired ass busy. Get that thing rolling so you can enjoy the rewards of your labor.

Repeat this technique as needed until you get the results of your dreams.:dunno::thumb::waytogo:

Being that it's slate there's probably a plywood sub-deck. Not much you can do if that is the case. If there is not a sub-deck, you can probably lift up the front of the countertop by using some shims. This all depending on the configuration of the kitchen lay out.

Generally all of the countertops are held on with dollops of silicone. If you can break the seal between the top of your lower and the bottom of the countertop, it will work. A five in one tool works good for this.

We need to do this at least three times a week with water damaged lowers. The insurance company's will pay for the new lowers, but like to detach and reset the tops if possible. Two days ago, we saved a huge "L" shaped Corian top for State Farm. It can be done, not always, but sometimes.

Good luck.

Meh.

Cut a square hole underneath and let the old dishwasher fall harmlessly into the basement.....

Load new dishwasher from below and throw a few jackstands under there to hold the new one in place!!!

You're welcome.

:D

So I took a half day off to work on the rig. My next door neighbor is a welder and is helping me. I dont know if this will work or not.

Welding 2.5" to 3". Might be too big of a gap. Dont lnow yet.

It'll work, but it'll be slow going to fill1/4" all around without burning through.

Maybe a series of relief cuts on the outer tube or a slug that fits between the two. I'd do the former.

Take a hammer and bend the pipe in a bit all the way around. It'll make the welding a little easier.

EDIT: I must type too slow.:D

I dont think its going to pass though. Guy said "brand new cat right?" He was smiling though.

When I brought my truck in with the original rusted out cat with 250k miles on it the guy was laughing. But when it passed with almost unmeasurable #s I had the last laugh when he had a shocked look on his face. Think positively.

What I like to call "Builders burn out" is a difficult thing to get past. Run into it all to often myself.

Only thing I can suggest is to get a mind set of doing one small thing every chance you can. Might just be something tiny like, looming some wires or something like that.

If you can do that, you will prevail.
