Well what started as me just cleaning the mounting pads for the motor mounts, turned into 3 hours of cleaning the engine bay and painting when my OCD kicked in.

But now the engine is sitting in there. Gonna start bottom to top of getting the engine in, then I'll change out the shackle hangers and build my front body/spring mounts for the front.

progress like my stuff slow but progress!

How do you like Greenville,NC so far?

I've gotten more done in the last 3 months then the last 10 years on it lol. And I've live here my whole life besides my 4 years in the army. No wheeling around here besides mud, but I have a feeling after college I'll move more west"

A snag I've ran into, anyone know of some long tube headers that still tuck up nicely?

How it's sitting now, should be able to drive it out if the garage without airing down the tires lol

Haven't updated this in a while, rebuilt the king pins, swapped to a 3/4 ton brake setup upfront, technically got the engine running but factory tank had developed rust. So put a new tank, vortec fuel pump, and waiting on the filter to get here so it'll have adequate fuel pressure. Wired up the electric fans, finished the body mounts/spring hangers, installed the shackle hangers and 7.25" shackles, dizzy dropped in first try and kind of freaked me out, lol. Put some 3/8 flange pacesetter 88-95 TBI headers on it since the long tubes I had would clear. Got a serpentine belt setup and got that all figured out and installed. Installed the 3/8 wall 1.5 OD tierod from ORD. Hopefully running and driving soon.

Plan is to get all the bugs worked out, put the 38.5s from the jeep on it, jeep goes in the garage for 1 tons, coilovers and to get linked. K5 still needs 35 spline stubs, front and rear lockers, rear diff cover/shave, regear, front driveshaft, shifter for the tcase, plumb/mount hydro assist ram, rear bumper, fix the bed floor, repair rockers/rectangular tube rockers, rear shock mounts, 1410 driveshafts, and I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Eventually I'll do a 32 spline outputshaft swap on the sm465 and 241/205 doubler.

Yeah, hopefully I'll be able to wheel the k5 this summer some. Even if I just throw a lunch box locker in the front and a Detroit/grizzly locker out back. Probably won't have the best crawl ratio with 4.10s and the 205 but hopefully won't be too bad.

Well running into some issues. New fuel tank and filter are in, still won't run. Kind of sputters, thinking my injectors are messed up again. Really debating on build new fuel lines for it to make sure no more rust is in the fuel system. Ordered a few mendral bend 2.5" 90s, Flowmaster merge collector and some flange adapters to start the exhaust, some 15x10 wheels, gear reduction starter. Was generating a bunch of heat in the starter wire so it's why I'm putting a gear reduction one on there. Might even redo the starter wiring. Also got my connect to warranty my optima battery that wasn't holding a charge. Really hoping I can get it up and running soon, I'm ready to drive it around. Also might be picking up another 10 spline np205 that I'll tear down/rebuild and get ready to build a nwf blackbox doubler. Really would rather do that then regear the axles so I can have a decent highway cruising RPM.

Well still won't run, no clue wtf is going on with it. Got a strong backfire through the exhaust a min ago. Checked my lash on the lifters, made sure I had it at TDC to drop the dizzy in. And still nothing. I honestly have no clue wtf to do with it besides tear it down to check my cam timing and pull the lifters out to make sure they are all good. All the retainers are level, I checked then with a straight edge to rule out a stuck open valve. The lifters are used so they could be my issue but it did crank up and run a month ago. It had a high idle but sounded healthy and strong. I started turning the dizzy by feel to see if the idle would go down and it cut off. So I took the time to tighten up a few rocker arms because they were chattering when the idle started to go down when turning the dizzy. It kicked back on the starter pretty hard when I went to start it up, and hasn't ran since. I'm lost in the sauce with this a frustrated as shit now. Very tempted to pull the timing cover and double check all my timing marks on the cam, check all the lifters and go from there. This shit is discouraging as hell though.
