thats some awesome work Izzy!!

what type of welder did you use??

Hobart Mig Welder.. Not sure the size. A small one with Argon Gas.. Does good job for a Novice at welding...:wink1:

I just painted my truck with Rust bullet. You really don't have to thin it at all. It works good with a 1.5MM tip HVLP pic are coming
Thanks

Did you spray the Rust Bullet? I'd like to know if you thinned it and with what. How'd you set up your gun? I'm a complete Noob on painting and any tips would be appreciated!

First of all, Izzy, nice work. its kinda cool we're both doing the same thing at the same time! What kind of paint are you gonna be spraying? Are you gonna spray it? If so, what kind of guns? that red looks super hot! I bet its fairly expensive. I'm gonna be shooting Sherwin Williams. Not too savvy of it though.

ETA: I am using a hobart 135, 75%,25% Argon, C02 mix with .023 wire. the best setup i have found for welding sheetmetal.

I knew you could spray it I am just a lil sceptical. Whats the clean up of the gun like after spraying it? I was thinking of buying another cheapo HVLP gun just to spray that stuff..:o

Thanks:wink1:.. The Paint is From the restoration shop at TCP Global.com. I am not sure the quality but its the Urethane Basecoat/Clearcoat. I am gonna try my hand at spraying it. I have been doing a crapload of research to get it done right, so we will see:crazy: . The price was not to bad It was $355.00 Bucks for one gallon of the GM Linen White, One gallon Fire Red Pearl, two gallons reducer, one gallon KC210 Kustom Shop Premium Urethane clear, and one quart KH212 Overall Urethane Hardener. The Guns I bought from toolrage.com not sure of the brand but came in a three pack, a blue one for the primer, red one for the paint and clear and a silver smaller one for touch up painting.

Oh and thank you for the info on the welder..

Paint is here, still have lot to do though

Doors

Work has started on the doors. I started to break down the drivers side door tonight and I am stuck trying to get the door handle off. there is one lever that will not come out of the lil latch its in.. But I am determined and will have it figured out tomarrow. Should have them primed by this weekend.... Hopefully:wink1: ..

Will post photos of progress..

there should be a couple plastic clips in there, I'd have to look though.

Doors primed and doing jams...

Well I have been kinda busy with this project. I took off this week from work so I could be painting the truck this coming weekend.. Here is what I have done.

Doors had to be sanded down and body filled. I found a nice surprise on the passenger side. PO must have leaned it up against a tree or pole..

Doors primed..

The shop turned into a K5 meat locker so I could paint jams...

Door jams painted, turned out nice.

Front fenders inside painted.. Wonder what Izzy has in mind for the paint scheme..

Oh I also redid my topper and it turned out sweet, its back in storage.

The Painting has begun on the truck...
Well I am waiting for paint to set up.. then I am clear coating the engine compartment and the front of the door jams along with the dash.. More to follow..:p:

looks VERY NICE dude! just a question though, why are you completely stripping all of the old paint off? Why not just wet sand with 400, then seal it, then prime and paint?
