jeep stuff and now a volvo!

This is what happens when you break an axle shaft and everybody thought the other person brought a jack.

The last 2 pics are of the new character I added to redrover

I don't remember all the jokes I was going to make now! Something to the effect of, is she for sale too? Trailer looks like it can handle the load, wonder if she could handle a load too?

There was more but I can't remember! Anyway, good work on the jackless axle repair.

Finally got around to fixing reverse in the wrangler. Turns out the pads on the shift fork broke off and that's why it didn't go into gear. Then the blocker ring got all jacked from not being in all the way.
Here it is coming apart

Here is the broken stuff. The fork on the left is reverse. You can see how the other fork had pads left.

The new assembly has the black pads on all the forks. It's from a 2013 jk. Instead of just on 3-4 and 5-6 gears.

Then all ready to install.
Then road tested. Shifts great finally.

I'm glad it's easy to disassemble and repair since it isn't known for being very strong. It's fine when stock. But adding a bunch of power and weight takes its toll.

A friend of a friend works for warn. And said he would find out what was wrong with my 9.5TI.

So I sent him this mess. Missing a bunch of pieces...no spool in.

6 months later. I got this back. Fixed and ready to install. Fully assembled with some used parts he had laying around.

WHAT A GUY! I've never even met him. He doesn't know me or owe me anything and he wouldn't take any sort of repayment.

Sad day..

I sold redrover. I will miss that one. I know the new owner so it should show up in pics from time to time.

Onward with the wrangler and my new daily/toy

83' 244 turbo. 5spd. Pretty clean.

Blew up the rear axle in the volvo. That didn't take long. Got a used one with 150k on it. Swapped it in a long with

Ipd adjustable upper links
Ipd adjustable Panhard bar
Used 1.6" drop springs
Drilled rotors
Ceramic pads.
Used ipd 23 mm sway bar. (Stock is 19mm)

Last pic is the after. Doesn't sit too saggy for only dropping the rear

I have matching front brakes ready to go on. Matching 25 mm front sway bar, drop springs and new wheel bearings and seals too.

I also got a new rear seat. The volvo leather doesn't last very long. Gets cracked really bad. The front seats have some nice ipd covers. So I grabbed the blue rear seat from the rear axle donor. Slapped it in. I will probably get blue or black and blue front seats to match later.

I can't wait until the snow comes. I already got my brothers xj ready. The LJ is all set. Just need the snow!

Not a lot of it so far! We went up to timberline on Monday and many of the trees up there had no snow on them!
