Jimmy rebuild thread

I also screwed up and thought the Jimmy's brakes were screwed up. Right front would not spin due to the surface rust. So I drove it and it freed up immediately. But was still dragging badly. So I rolled down the road really slow to clean the rotor. Kept getting worse. Finally got to the point that I had to put it low range to move it. Headed back to the house the undercarriage was howling. 2 miles an hour. I pull to the side of the road and dropped the right front corner in a ditch. Back it out and noticed blue smoke rolling up from the back.
Oops. Had the parking brake on the whole time. It is a rear brake line lock valve.

I was going to say after watching your videos you are making it look like a pavement princess! Then I reread your post....
Glad to see the Jimmy still out there killing it, even if killing it means the brakes...

Sounds like you need to wire in a lightbulb or buzzer.
That is a great idea a buzzer, the brake light is to small on these rigs.

I too have burned up the rear brakes by driving with brake on for more miles then I care to admit.
I fixed that problem on mine and don’t have one anymore.
New parts Monday. I am excited. Anniversary/birthday/Christmas presents.
Be patient, even though you know what is going on.
