Joining the SXS club

Successful first outing. Stuck to park roads and easy trails. Definitely want skids, sliders, and bigger tires. It was hotter than hell today. Had to give our water to some dirt bikers that got lost. We brought a case so wasn’t worried about us. I love hidden falls. Somehow managed to find a mud hole that was deep enough to let water come in through the doors. Not sure my daughter is a fan but we’ll try again when the weather cools off. Now to pack for an 8am to chicago for work tomorrow.

My little buddy loved it. Especially the mud. I hate the mud. But when your 3yo asks you to find mud, you find mud. Even the wife said it was great and way better than the four wheelers. Looks like I’ll be selling the 125 Yamaha and 50 Polaris. Can’t bring myself to sell the warrior.

Buddy of mine gave me his brand new factory high lifted arms and wheel bearings so I got those swapped on. Of course the last hub was seized and I had to get the torch and sledge. Found one bent radius rod.

Welded in a summit brand Borla knock off muffler, installed a k&n filter and outerwear, and I’m in the process of getting it tuned.

Would suggest an S&B particle separators over a k&n.

Had my S&B on mine for well over 1200 miles and my filter is still white. AZ is dusty as hell most times. Been in miles of less than 100ft visibility. It works.

Where I ride isn’t very dusty so I wasn’t to concerned. One of those is on my Christmas list though.

Gonna have to buy a trailer sooner than I thought. Some friend drama is restricting my access to my buddy’s that I was borrowing. Dang women. Oh well. Not a big fan of borrowing stuff anyways.

That’s how the last deer lease was. It was rough some days. I’ll end up with one eventually but didn’t feel like the money would be worth the spend at this point. I’ve also looked into the Cummins opti-air setup. Cheaper but takes some fab work.

Taking mine out tonight to watch the Presides meteor shower. Get away from the town lights. Finger crossed no clouds.

How did the rear suspension change effect ride ? where is the hood ??

Might sound lame but wear helmets in the SXS. Lost some fellow off-roader friends due to bops on the noggings while wheeling.

No real change in ride but not hanging up on stuff as much. Hood is off because I’m doing some logging for the tune and it’s Bluetooth so it’s off for ease of access and just that much less resistance in signal. Not a fan of the Bluetooth but the tuner likes it so giving it a shot.

I don’t normally ride these types of trails with the family. We got a bit lost and ended up on a 5 and had to work our way out. Generally stick to park roads or 1-2. Safety equipment is at the top of the list along with skids and sliders. Can’t really go on much more technical without those.

Picked up some turbo s take offs for $325. 15” wheel and 32” tire. Stock is a 14” and 29”.

Put a new hunterworks thick belt on it and half a mile into the first drive the carrier bearing blew up so I gotta fix that. And after the last wheeling trip it’s started idling at 1800 and won’t shift unless you turn it off. Always something.
