JUMPPR's '75 Blazer-con build

Was this a stock heat shield? It’s right under the driver seat and has been cut on already. Do I need to keep it ?

You can pull it but you might find yourself adding a heat barrier later depending on your exhaust layout.

I’m not sure where the exhaust will go at this point, but probably not here!

Putting my doubler together to figure out crossmemebers. What type of bolts should I use here? Allen head or what? This is the inside of the adapter between the two cases.

Looks like I got the wrong adapter for the trans -> transfer case. This was a TH400-NP203 adapter.

Well, after two days of screwing around I we got the transmission stuck to the engine and the XJ shaft mounted. I had planned to drop the motor/trans/cases in too but didn’t have the right trans adapter.

To those of you who have used Kurt’s shock towers, do I have them in roughly the right spot? Those two bolts are the top mounting points for the engine saddle.

Assuming those shock mounts weld in, I would make sure you have the shocks on hand to test fit them. Make sure the axle is where you want it along with the lower shock mounts.

That’s what I was planning to do. I was more concerned about where the engine saddle bolts were and if I was gonna have to come up with a another plan for those.

If needed, flip the bolts around so the nuts are under and notch the shock mounts.

I was trying to get it all in the truck this week while I had some help in town but ended up with the wrong adapter between the transmission and transfer case.

For anyone that’s interested I just redrilled the front face of the 203 with the new 6-bolt pattern minus that lower hole.

I might fill the area with JB-Weld and stick a stud there still, but I’ve read that it’s not totally necessary.

Started re-engineering the ORD 3-stick mount to fit on the newer adapter. This one was originally made to fit with the TH400/203 adapter.
