JUMPPR's '75 Blazer-con build

I'm in the process of replacing both shift rails in my NP205 with a set of modified ones from JB Fab. I have been able to get the rear (shorter) rail out, but am not having any luck with the longer front side. I've removed the roll pin from it and it still won't come all the way out. Is there a trick? I've even got the rear cover off so I can persuade it with the hammer, but that's not working either.

Is the shift fork hung up on the rail?
I would guess, but it's hard to tell. I thought maybe you could only do one side at a time so I'm in the process of getting the pin back in the rear side now.

The rails will often have burs that keep them from sliding through the shift fork. Sometimes you can spin the rail and work it out.

It must’ve been hung up on the shift fork. I used the old rear rail and a hammer to tap it through from the rear. I had to put a little more taper on the end of the roll pins to help get them started also.

Now I gotta get some new gaskets and put it all back together.

Dry fitting the shifters tonight. Before I start shortening bolts, is this correct?

Stock rebuilt 5.3LS and 4L80E. What kind of torque converter should I get? It’s gonna be a regular driver/trail rig.

Any chance you could post more pics of the rear seat mounting setup?

sorry I haven't been paying attention to the forums lately.......I haven't got the rear seat mounts completely finished yet, but I'll take some pictures of what I have and post up when I get home.

Grinding old shock mounts off the axle tonight. Gotta make room for the inner-C reinforcement/shock mounts I got instead. I hate grinding!

I’ve only started making the mounting points but this is what I’ve got so far. This is the front of the rear seat mount. I cut the floor under it so the latches wouldn’t bind up when they flip forward and removal.
