June Rubicon Trip (more pics)

She was a trooper on the first day as well. She also took some cool videos.

Yeah! She walked quite a bit! Ive added being a good spotter to my list of dating criteria.

Found this cool little river area after the springs:

Just after the green bridge...i had about 4 inches on either side of me getting over it.

Dog mowing down some lasagna:

They decided to work on Ice House road just as I'm trying to get back to Loon. lol 30 minute wait to go up and ~45 min wait to leave.

Damage report.

Very loose tierod end. Funny though, I felt it for a second driving around Tahoe but never again. Truck still drove dead straight :dunno: (note to self, make sure that's not a crack)

Hood lines, chrome trim, and headlight buckets look funny from side to side. Something shifted but I can't tell looking at the bolts underneath. :dunno:

And at some point my bumper made contact with the fender. Other than that one spot, the truck is the same as it was "pre-Rubicon" and I didn't shy away from nuthing :woot: (except the "squeeze") :haha:

K85 I noticed the lines on your truck to be messed up when we were about mid way through the trail. I thought it was always like that...

Mr k85 tried soup bowl and nearly got up. He got through little sluice like it was nothin! I didnt attempt anything because of my issues and lack of protection.

Anyone do soup bowl? Old sluice? Little sluice?

Hey chris, I'd love to hit the trail sometime with you. Might have to slow down a little the blazer doesn't do fast too well. It would be sweet to go for 3 full days too, by Sunday we were feeling rushed running the whole trail through

Looks like a great trip! Glad there was still water up there for ya.

Little Sluice has been rebuilt to be just another part of the trail now. It has a long history of getting rebuilt and rebuilt. First time I went through it was impassable to anything but a moon buggy. Second time I went through it was a technical, but easy crawl. Originally it was a bumpy road for Model Ts.

Owenst7 has driven Old Sluice a number of times in his Blazer. There was never an uglier truck on planet Earth though, so it makes sense that he'd be the only square body to do it... ;)

Soup Bowl :waytogo:
I've only got video of the attempt. We came up on it suddenly but I had to try it. Should have aired down as I was only at 15 psi. But alas, I called it quits as my engine and trans temp were around 230 :( I'll be back you SOB :D

The new Little Sluice.
Not much bragging rights anymore. :( Wouldn't have tried the old one though. Hope more rocks are removed as time goes on :D

Glad someone attempted it. Did Zak try?

I'd definitely be down. I'm going July 17th weekend with a Buncha jeeps and toyotas. But we just camp at Wentworth springs and take trips into the trail. Usually just buck and back.

The trail can seemed a little rushed in two days. The last time I did it I was with a couple slower rigs and we went through in about 7 hours with a few stops. But we had all been there a few times.

I didn't see any pictures of buck island. Did you guys hang out there at all? There are a couple good wheeling spots there also

No, Zak didn't try Soupbowl or LS. I really wanted someone else to try but I know he needs the truck to drive home.

We stay just past Buck Island. Took some harder lines going through, really loved that part of the trail. It was a zoo there though, lots of people and someone blasting ACDC into the night lol. Where we ended up was perfect, quiet, and had a great view over the valley area.

I may try to shoot for the 17th as well. Unfortunately hang out time was very minimal. We camped up on the ridge above buck which was maybe a 20 minute walk to the lake but i was rubber by then and didnt want to go anywhere lol. My plan is to hangout a bit more next time. I felt like it was too rushed but how do you know unless you do it right?

Id love to see the other wheeling spots there. I though i spotted your jeep there but it was a burnt copper color.

Damn ACDC. Atleast we had Zak on the vuvuzuela horn. :D

Cool pics. Looks like a great time.

Definitely a good time! I was a bit stressed over the leak and just being new but in hindsight it was really fun! More pics tonight!

I just updated my build thread with a bunch of pics from the trip, I have a bunch of everyone as well and some video I'm not sure how to upload it though :dunno:

Thanks for the pics.

I think you can upload videos to photobucket

Yeah thanks bmx for the pics they look awesome! Its hard to get action shots when youre in your own rig lol.

I noticed uploading vids was an option on photobucket the other day. might have to try...

Even short videos are easier to watch on YouTube. Photobucket blows when it comes to videos as they take forever to load and sometimes lag as they play. :(
