I just picked up a 2012 2500HD in the same color as this (steel gray). Love the truck but good lord does it suck the gas (6.0). Got a nice growl to it for a stock exhaust, so its kinda hard to keep my foot out of it. Anyway, nice truck. You will definately like it.

Go with a rancho! Mines an 07 VortecMax(6.0L)

And FWIW, if later down the road you want the nav, it's an easy PnP upgrade!

Not sure on the gassers but on the dmaxes removing the air damn will void the warrnaty, as its part of the air-intake system........ I can tell all sorts of other horror stories about the new d-maxes

Hope not, but do tell! I'm thinking about getting one in the near future.

Silver, i hear ya! They do sound awesome! Such a mellow growel! I can imagine the 6.0 would drink! Even my 5.3 is proving to be pretty thirsty as well! But, like you, im finding it hard to keep my foot out of it just yet. Herk, im noy going to lift it. Just a half level. Gotta find out if it will effect the warranty first :doah:

500 new D-maxes over 300 broke down with emissions related issues GM engineers have been up here on a regular basis trying to iron this crap out.

The Dodges do not have the issues the GM's do Cummins had there crap figured out years ago. There is rumors here that we are ditching GM and going Dodge , now that Dodge actually makes a true crew cab

Don't wanna plug up this thread , but I would theink long and hard about buying a 2012 or newer GM diesel

Congrats on the GMC, thats a sharp looking rig! Sounds like you got a pretty good deal on it as well.

Thanks! I love it! Today was a good day. I finally got some tire shine stuff on the tires and wheel wells and washed it good so it actually looked like a new truck. Looked incredibly good right around sunset. I was pretty much giddy as i was staring at it today after it was all cleaned up and looking good. Had my nice watch on, my nice jacket, nice shoes, and did some running around feeling straight baller! No but really, it was fun.

"Not going to lift it" lol. Dude that's exactly what I said. Got the Rough Country leveling kit (good one IMO) and wasn't completely satisfied with the ride, so on went the rancho.

Good looking truck BTW

Running some errands this morning and stopped to take a few pics.

Needs mud tires :D

Look into the AirRaid Jr cold air intake. Its cheap, and all it does is replace the factory intake tube. The stock air box and filter flow plenty but the restriction is the factory air tube. This way you keep your off-the-shelf air filter from any parts store and get the performance of cold air intake. All of the benefits and none of the trade-offs. Its not going to void your warranty and it cleans up the engine compartment a bit too.

Cool man thanks for the tip! And yes, your right, it needs some mud tires! These ones have a decent enough pattern for snow and ice so i'll keep them till they wear out.

Erma Gherd! I have had the best idea on how im going to molest this thing when the warranty is up! Im going to swap it to the "standard length" bed! Cause with these trucks, you have short, standard, and long but the 1500 crew cabs only come in short. Long is just too long, and short isnt quite enough. So, im just going to buy a good bed thats the same color as mine, stretch the frame, and have (possibly) the only crew cab standard bed truck out there! And then im going to also swap in a 6.0, full denali interior, and the 9.5" rear end. I probably wont do any of that... but its a bad ass thought! It would make a sweet ass truck that would be perfect for me!
