K10 Back-half Revamp! **posted wheelin' pics**

please tell me the only reason you have those mud flaps is because of state law...

Absolutely!
I hate having to run mud flaps which is why they're on there with wing nuts so when I get where I'm going I can take them off... but it keeps me legal so I do what I have to do.

looks great Avery!

But your gunna have to weld your doors shut or the hinge pins will wear out!:doah::haha:and stuff cuz I know it happened to mine.

No, the mudflap mounts are subpar and when he's crossing the Andes they'll fall off in a snow storm and then he'll be screwed! Happened to me...four times...

looks good man... :waytogo:

Should be a HUGE improvement over what you where running....

I can already tell the ride quality is better, I'll be excited to get it out on a trail or hit the dunes to see how it feels out there...

Soft rear and stiff front--it is going to be a little bouncy in the front.

I should let this go, but...

Avery is just getting started on his project, and showing his progress as he go along. I sure there is more work he has planned.

Good grief! I missed all the action from theebonymonkeylover yesterday. What an idiot!

Oh great, just what Avery needs for his thread is somebody throwing more fuel to the fire and getting the thread locked.

:p::haha:

Following along quietly and I like the direction it's going. Will you be going back to the RTI ramp now that the shocks are on to see how bad if any the shock towers flex?I would hate to see you crack/rip your frame after all the warnings you've had.Look great man:D

I'm sure once they tie tube into it, it'll be a non-issue...

I don't think the shocks binding is causing frames to crack. It is the resistance of the shocks and the leverage of the towers that is causing the problems. Yes the shocks are moving but it is hammering frame at mounting points. Think of it as hitting the top of those towers side-to-side consistency with a dead blow. May not seem doing any harm but it is gradually fatiguing the frame.

Avery i really hate you. You give me so many ideas :(

I really am a tight ass and you make me wanna spend my savings :rotfl:

For the record i hate that you're cuttin up your bed but it IS yours so :( could someone just find me a good rust free one so don't have to be out of the loop :haha:

Can't wait to see thia bad mofo done :D

awesome avery!!! Looks great!

but you should really box your frame or it's gonna crack :p::p:

i hear ya on the mud flaps, i have to run em too

looks really great, avery. i agree that you should definitely make supporting those shock towers your next priority (a post from a few pages back first stated it.... but i've been outta town all weekend. :) )

I think Avery should hire theebonymonkeylover to box the frame for him.

You better paint those Flip 'n Switch brackets or a thermonuclear explosion will destroy central California. Happened to me six times last week. :deal:

I do agree about triangulating your shock towers. I'm lovin' the idea though. Looks great! :waytogo:

well, he did use the trusty tin-foil-flake clear coat on those brackets, so they should survive the imminent thermonuclear catastrophe.

however, i think it needs to be painted a different color because white trucks break down on the trail constantly because of how weak the paint is from the factory and then it chemically reacts with the dust and sun and causes the metal to melt down. but, it's his sh!t, so if he wants to f@ck it up, that's up to him.

:D

I'm sure I'll make it back over there eventually but not until I get some substantial work done first...

Well it might be your lucky day... we've been talking about it and I think I might sell my bed... being that I kicked my rear end out the only way to make the bed's wheelwells fit would be some cutting so I might just sell it and put that money towards some longbed fiberglass sides :D

The tube bender is on the way which means a cage is on the way... we'll tie those towers into the cage to stiffen stuff up.

Forgot to mention I went and got it dirty today :)
