K10: Built HP60/241-205 Doubler/tons of tube

Good work, slow burn out now hahaha

I'm good at those, did one tonight up the driveway with my dad since he was out of town the last time I did it and posted the video. :D

But thats where all the BEST wheeling happens

Not for this guy, I'm to poor for that kind of abuse. I'm figuring crazy low gearing, 40" tires, a basic little small block and a cromo 35 spline front end should stay together for many years of recreational wheeling if I keep my foot out of it.

Have you wheeled with the doubler yet? In 1st, Low, Low, it won't be hard to hit 3,000 RPM. With my SM465 and 38's, Low, Low, Low redlines at 3 mph on my GPS.

Yeah I understand that but I'm not the kind of guy *cough* toyota guys *cough* to put it in the lowest gear I have and sit there all day on the trail. There are sections of trails we go to that you can just run in 2wd high and be fine then slow it way down for the technical stuff.
It's fine, I don't want it to sound like I'm complaining about it I was just thinking now that it's done and runs good I can swap on this quadrajet I've been sitting on for the off-road characteristics they're known for compared to a street/strip carb like I'm running now.

Why not swap on a simple TBI set up? Your engine is pretty stock, not?

Too many fandangle electronics and wiring. :)
I'm fine with carbs for now.

I think you have put yourself together a truck that will really suit you well! Excellent build.

Make sure on your arb line you give yourself enough slack for droop. I'm sure you've got that covered but I'd rather say it than have it become an issue later. That's why most guys throw a coiled hose on it.

Got it covered. :thumb:

I love this truck. We need wheelin' pics!

Pretty quick here. Not much left to do except get out there and break it.

I would just cut up a pickup, and run the factory harness, but that was an "easy" way to install TBI. I have had carbs and EFI. I don't care for carbs anymore.

I like TBI as well, but there is something to be said for the simplicity of a GOOD q-jet and plain old HEI sometimes simpler is better. and for what Avery is doing I thing he is on the right track.

Let's get back on this build! A box of awesome stuff showed up today. :D

Affordable Fuel Injection. Those guys are great to deal with! They answered all of my dumb questions and got me all setup.

Nope, I'm not going to mess with it. It's a complete system they put together with a harness built with just my options in it and the computer flashed for the components I'll be running. I'm going to install it and run it! :)
