K10: Built HP60/241-205 Doubler/tons of tube

Your junk is all hacked up, maybe you should just tow it down to my place and call it a loss. :dunno::rolleyes:

Just kidding. :pimp:

Why the 1330 to 1350 on the rear CV?

Yeah I thought about that but the guys at driveline service said it'll be fine. I could have changed the yoke on the case but they recommended this setup. We shall see.

Dropped it off before work to have the exhaust ran. Pulled it off the trailer under its own power, kinda cool. Steering is silky smooth, brakes feel good....and even stock small blocks sound good with open headers. :)

I will admit, it makes me feel a bit bad when I see rust free parts cut up, just because there is no such thing as rust free here. That being said, it is already smashed up, who cares at this point? Cut as much as you need.

I have to say that I love every bit of your build. The mods all are functional and the sheet metal cutting is about what I would have done. In fact, I am starting a similar build of my own. I hope that mine turns out nearly as good as yours. I think that you will have lots of fun with the truck. :waytogo:

Picked the truck up after a somewhat short work day (in late from dropping it off and out early to pick it up) and it looks AMAZING... well at least to me. So it's a great day, good exhaust, short work day and I have tomorrow off!

Here's some pics, I told the guy that did it how happy I was and he should be proud of his work. I was gun shy with leaving it for exhaust because of the bad experience and high price I dealt with a year or two back when I did the exhaust and I kinda hinted at it. He said, just leave it and I promise you'll be happy with it.... and boy was he right.

It crosses over under the oil pan in front of the sump, he even put in an extra little jog to get it centered up where it crosses over. Then he built a crazy good looking collector with a flange down the frame rail so it's removable in pieces and it doesn't just stub into the other pipe with a hard 90* like my old setup. He then made a nice piece that crosses back over to the driver's side since that was the only place to put the muffler. Sounds great, price was right and I'm a happy camper.

Oh and I'm going to have too much fun with these low gears.... just putting it on the trailer idling in gear it sat there and churned both back tires on the ramps since I didn't have the hubs locked in. WooHoo for low gears!

As usual here's some crappy cell phone pics in the bright sun.

You should have bought that guy a six pack. He gets a definite "A" for effort. i am going to save the pictures and have my exhaust guy do something similar. :waytogo:

That turned out really nice :pimp:

Thanks man, the looooooong hours after work and on the weekends for who knows how long are starting to pay off. Just firing it up and pulling it on the trailer tonight at the exhaust shop made it worth while, even if I still have a giant hole in the floor to fix this weekend. :D

That exhaust looks sick. :waytogo:

I see some room for a burrito heater under the diamond plate.

Well apparently I need to get a rear proportioning valve setup and ditch the factory one to get my rear discs to grab better. Otherwise 176:1 at idle does this...

You have to title that video, "Worlds slowest burn out!"! Imagine how many youtubes hits it would get!

Well, that, and no weight in the rear.

WTF are you sitting on? I'm guessing something too high....or you've turned into a giant!

Good work on the truck man, not many ppl our age can fund and stay motivated through such a nice, quick build.

You built a textbook 1 ton wheeler, and i've been fighting to keep my rig running.:haha:

I'm 6'-1" so no giant, just sitting on a big milk crate. I have the seats out still until I finish the floor. I banged my head more than once today loading and unloading. Not to mention the spinning driveshafts of death with the molten heat coming in through the giant hole in the floor that the crate keeps wanting to fall into keeps ya nice and awake. :D
Funds were somewhat of an issue but I just made sure I started with a good chunk saved and made this the priority for a while. A somewhat large portion of my checks lately have been going straight into this but I figure once it's done it won't cost much to just maintain.

How old are you Darren? And for that matter, how old are you Avery?

Turned 23 last month.
