K10: Built HP60/241-205 Doubler/tons of tube

I would strongly recommend another crossmember on the 205, without it you're very likely to break the 241 box or the transmission tail IMO.

Got that covered a long time ago. Here's how the back of the 205 is supported right now. I'll probably change it when I make a new rear crossmember for the skid though.

Can/do you drive it on the street?

Martin

Yeah it's registered and insured. I have mud flaps for the back if I'm going to drive it on the street. Obviously the wheels aren't legal but overall yeah, if I drive normal and don't give them a reason to pull me over I can sneak around town.
It's easy to load on the trailer now (made some wood inserts so I don't have to pull the trailer fenders anymore. Just drive up and over.) so I generally just trailer it.

Those panel tabs made really nice mounting tabs for your tcase. It's all looking good.

I know, I had a few left over and it just kinda hit us that they'd make awesome mounts for this setup.

Made it to the transmission shop bright and early before work and picked it up on the way home. That gated shifter is sweet compared to the column. It's really positive and positioned in a better spot where my hand naturally rests.

Down to the last couple little things... maiden voyage Saturday the 27th. :)

Was just curious to see what gauges you ran, and where. Did you ditch a speedo completely?

Yeah speedo is gone. I don't have a speed sensor anywhere so the computer is setup to lock the torque converter in 4th at something like 1500 rpm or so.

Running a big tach then the small ones across the top are Fuel, Water, Oil, Trans, Volts.

So great work as usual but I don't usually comment unless I see something that might need tweeked a bit.

On the crossmember, the angle iron the bolts to the frame might be a good idea to box it in and add ramps to the front and back.

If you nail that thing on a big rock ( usually not on purpose) it can move stuff ( personal experience here) and cause many strange noises that are highly disconcerting.

Just adding the ramp will allow the rock to not put its full force into the crossmember but will deflect it somewhat.

Other than that looks freakin cool. Really diggin the overall dash setup with the heater and everything

Oh and one suggestion for when you narrow the front. Just ditch the whole core support much easier and better

Dash came out great! You should put some green bulb condoms on your gauges to match the radio and your indicator lights. That would look sick!

I can do that. I'll see what I can come up with.
I plan on ditching the core support when I get to that point.

Man I had green ones on the bench but didn't put them on! If I have to pull that panel out for something soon I'll swap them on.

either that or you just run tube and mount the radiator off the tube. easy peasy. you arent necessarily changing the layout, just ditching the factory steel and using tube in its place.
not to say that going rear mounted might not happen.
