K10: Built HP60/241-205 Doubler/tons of tube

Yeah thanks. Looks pretty intense for sure. Looks like Avery's half doors took a beating already.

I don't know what you're talking about. :dunno:

ah squeeze rock.
looks like a great time had.

any major impressions from the trip avery?

Yeah the truck worked really well for the first time out. I need hydro assist but that isn't something I wasn't aware of. I'll get working on that pretty quick here. I'd like better belly protection and I need to tweak my sliders so they... uh, slide. :D

There may be some repeats but I snagged a bunch of pictures off Facebook of the k10 to put in the build thread here in case some of you aren't on there.
If you're on Facebook there's a big album I shared on my timeline of pictures one of the guys uploaded. He took some really nice shots of everyone!

Dude you rule. That scratch on the door will buff out I'm sure.

In post #1049, in the seventh picture from the top, for some reason you look like that guy Ian on that Xtreme 4x4 show on TV. No offense.

Hey why didn't you go through the Tank Trap? Was it full of water or something?

:waytogo:

So is this still my fault :dunno: :haha: ?? Get it open yet :haha: ?

It was always kinda sketchy and would make my butt do strange things to the seat, but when my truck was a truck I would take the passenger side tires over that rock rather than try to fit around it :pimp:

Nah I haven't messed with it. I was thinking of going on a little day time poker run at the top of the 4 lanes in a couple weekends but I read the rules and I'd have to put in a line lock to be legal. It's a fundraiser kinda deal, not sure if you'd be up to getting the woohoodilly out.

I'm thinking of ditching the doors and running some tube across there and welding some plate on the lower part but I'm not sure how quick I'd get tired of climbing through that.

Next time I'll try going over the top. Oh and I'm taking full credit for the door, you're off the hook. :)

I'm thinking of doing the same thing with mine. I have a set of door skins I might use over the tube work

so just an observation that I have had as the stuff I wheeled got harder and harder.

The doors more towards the rear part take a beating. The really unfortunate part of that is that the b pillar of the truck takes a beating too and usually enough of a beating that it is never the same you never put your doors back on and you remove your cab.

So if planning on keeping the cab I would plate the b pillar area up to about window height. It doesn't take much 1/8 might even do it plate it on the side and back around the backside of the cab. This will at least keep your B pillar straight enough to put the doors on and off when you want.

Nice pics Avery.

That's basically how it's done on my truck, pics are in my build thread. The cab corners were a little rotted out and my bro cut the corner out, then replaced it with 1/8" steel plate. We are thinking of adding an additional 1/8" plate to the side only
