K10: Built HP60/241-205 Doubler/tons of tube

You only get a new rig approved by us if you put a fuzzy dash in it.

I vote starting with a 3/4 ton suburban. Leaf sprung rear sucks, but you get the length, power, good trans, and 8 lug rear to start with. Thr 6 and 8 liter ones are cheap......

I thought about this but the length would be killer on these tighter trails.

Damn this rig has came a long way, I remember when you were swapping in the 3/4 tons wayyy back when. Even caught flak for telling you to regear it yourself, lol. Do you really need 4 doors? I love scaring the crap out of my friends but maybe a 95-98 2 door Tahoe so it's still nemble? I never wheeled northern Cali when I was out there but SoCal 100"-110" would take you almost anywhere. It was only the crazy ledges you needed more wheelbase than that. Wheeled with enough 4 door wranglers with that 117" wheel base and watched them get beat to hell, struggle, and take funky lines.

Yup, it's the definition of built and reliable these days.
I don't need four doors now but it would be nice and I like the 99+ tahoes as a platform. They're cheap and already have a 5.3 and fantastic hvac systems.

It was like 108* today and is supposed to be 110* all week but forget it, work has to continue, we leave Friday morning.
Handled the hood pins, doesn't sound like much but took some time.
Then started on a fresh bumper. Needs some tweaking and figuring on the ends but it should be cool. I'll finish adding tube tomorrow night then plasma cut some panels with some dimpled holes.

Finished slamming the bumper together. My buddy is going to plasma cut me a center section but for this trip I tacked some expanded metal back in.
Similar to the old bumper but this one isn't insanely tweaked. Wired up the light bar too.
So tomorrow I'll change the oil and check drivetrain hardware and it'll be ready to roll for this weekend.
