K2500 Burb - There's no Replacement for DISPLACEMENT!!!!

Auction was at $3800 an hour before close, holy crap.

Nervous about the trans condition, but overall, it looks clean. Airbags, Trailer Brake controller, and fleet usage make me worry its towed a lot though.

Guess we'll find out. If its grossly misrepresented on Ebay, they will back me and get my deposit back...i'll only be out the cost of travel to go see it.

Who should i visit on the way back?

I have been wanting a truck like that for a long time. But i just dont think there is anyway in todays world i could get myself to own a big block that wasnt just a sunday cruiser. The vortec 350's seem to get decent millage and power on the other hand.

Test drove a K2500 with the 350, 4.10's and exhaust on saturday. Damn thing had some power. Would rather the 350...but, this is a tow/weekend rig. The 454 will dominate towing....the only time it will suck is going to the mountain during the winter. And really, it will do better than my burb has done since the 33's, so overall improvement.

So you bought it for $5900?

Yep. DEFINITELY paid for the condition. But, after thinking about a worn one this weekend....i HATE beat up stuff. The interior in my 91 is VERY clean, and thats how i justify older trucks. If its washed, I am NEVER ashamed to show up in it, anywhere. Passengers may be, but i'm not.

And if this newer burb is going to replace that on a weekend DD duty, it needs to be the same quality. Stupid to buy a 3700 rig, have to put front seats in it, carpet, new rear hatch, full brake job, etc......

I'd like to say i have that type of time, but i don't.

Paid a lot for this one, and fully expect it to be in the condition advertised. If not, i'll bail. Ebaymotors is one of the 2 parts of ebay that is NOT legally binding, BTW.

Picking it up Saturday morn.

Talked to the guy, sounds like Sony had a fleet of 10-15 98-2002 white suburbans like this. All 4x4 3/4 tons. Sounds like they were used in movies? Or on sets?

Idano. But keeping them clean, and well maintained seemed to be important to them. He said this was the last one, and by far the cleanest.

He may be blowing smoke up my A$$, but we'll see on saturday!
