K30 utility bed off road builds???

Are you thinking of adding a underbed box to it as well or leave it as is?
When we installed this bed the truck belonged to my son. I made the mistake of helping him install it on a Saturday afternoon and by the time we had his old bed off and removed the aftermarket saddle tank it was getting to be around 5pm and he had a date. I wanted to take the time to modify the bed cross members so it would sit lower but he had different priorities :coolblue:. Since then I have purchased the whole truck and I will install it so it sits lower and it should look a lot better.

The service body I am working with is a shorter (?) long bed like one of the ones pictures. My plan so far is to chop the rear box at about 45 degrees up towards the bumper. Remove the dropped bumper and fab a nice flat bumper with tow hooks. My service body also has a 150gallon slip tank in it. I should have some pics up in the next day or so. I'm swapping it onto my 96 dodge Cummins truck. I'm mildly concerned with towing a gooseneck with it, not sure it will be low enough but I rarely pull one so it isn't a big deal. Plus I have other trucks...HA!

For me it's purely utilitarian. My tow rig needs to carry all my tools to do just about anything. Torches, big hand tools...EVERYTHING. I keep going back and forth on what works the best. To me looks are always secondary to function. If it does the job, it's pretty.

I have two trucks I am outfitting for two specific jobs. I feel like the tow rig/Daily driver would benefit most from the service body but it also has to be able to get me into the back country to hunt and guide. I'm feeling like the other truck needs to get converted to Dually to pull heavy stuff around locally.

Bit of progress on mine since the service bed is actually on now. It's actually more narrow than the flatbed that came off it (and a stock dually bed as well)
