Well, I've been hunting for a K5 due to it's superior wheeling capabilities. Up here there are 25 jeeps for every fullsize vehicle offroad. As such, most the trails have lots of tight turns that a longbed pickup has a lot of trouble navigating. There are also lots of hill peaks, or holes with sudden drops etc that a fullsize truck gets high centered on very easily. The fact that a K5 has far more weight on the rear axle is a major help for offroad traction as well.
I also very much like the fact that there is an enclosed place to store recovery, camping and safety gear. Even more than that is the relative ease of lifting these trucks, not to mention you can bolt 3/4 ton axles straight on without much modification required.
The fact that they are dead sexy is a big help, and I love having a diesel V8 to haul busted jeeps home with.
