Wouldn't a 241 be a simpler choice?

241 never came in 29 spline input, and as far as I know, there is no good replacement for one either. Honestly, adapting a 205 to work on an Allison isnt bad, just kinda expensive. But swapping an Allison is expensive no matter how you go about it

I thought the 241D was 29 spline from the dodges?

Maybe a different 29 spline though, thought I heard that not all 29 splines are created equal...

I think you are correct, but IIRC thats still a driver drop, which goes back to the before mentioned of all the work to find and swap front axles which will probably be more money in the end (and more work) then just working on the 205

That and I already have a 263 but I think the 241is also a lefty. Luckily the Ally is already mated to the engine so the trans shouldn't give me too much trouble other than tunnel clearance. The 3" body lift will help with that but I want to set the body back down

You can swap the input from the 263 into a 241, need a 1/4" thick spacer. I was gonna do this when I had my 8.1/Allison combo, but opted to go 4L80, then opted to sell both. There is a member here who did it, can't remember his s/n.

I still think I'm Goin 205 despite the cost I'm in no hurry so I'll save up my pennies.
