I know @sweetk30 wants to kill me by now... hahahahahaha

That’s why I pm’d @frankin5 with the title “before @sweetk30 kills me”

I was just getting confused on input and output terms and what I see vs what they actually are. The seal you linked look different, to my eyes to what is on the 203 gear seal. Just my inexperience leading to my confusion.

Thanks again....

By the way that seal was a motherF to get out. When the new one arrives and I eventually pull the 203, I’m taking it to a shop to have it pressed in.

input = power in from transmission

output = power out and also front or rear out put to axles or doubler but thats not for you .

just slow your roll and read what some of us are typing out and you will be fine . and if we give you a link chances are 98% of the time its exactly what you need for a good deal .

Haven’t read the whole post.
As you have found the double lip seal for the input of the 203 is available and also the original configuration. If you use the single lip seal like the 3173 you use 2 of them back to back.
Years ago the parts books use to specify this.
Certainly don’t want to do this twice.:D

Thanks...I ordered both seals I linked above. I wasn’t aware you needed 2 single lip seals. The one I got out yesterday on my other 203 was one seal not 2 back to back.

Number of seals depends on style of seal you removed. There are many styles. We only need to worry about 2 here, single lip and double lip seals.
You want to use a double lip seals.
See attachment

I'm not sure the second seal, the quad(even better than double), will fit. Description says 32 spline input. Idk if the 27 and 32 spline are the same size.

I got the seals in today. As you can see, the one I pulled out is a bit wider than the new ones. When I inevitably have to pull the 203 to replace this. I’ll probably use the green one, unless you guys think otherwise?

I’m not sure if that matters too much?
