Let’s talk dual battery’s

Ahh... the one I linked senses main batt voltage, when it see 13.5 volts it will close and link the aux battery.
It has provision for link to start circuit.

right... a reg solenoid won't do that.. there are ways to utilize regular solenoids in a dual system, and other places.... I often run slaves for starters...

but the common "dual bat setup" that was popular for yrs was just to have the solenoid fired with the ign circuit.. trucks on, both are paralleled and charging....

Simple enough would you use circuit breakers instead of fuses?

if you mean between the bats and relay, I generally don't fuse them being they are right next to the bat source in most boats..... the same applies to my tray.... if i'm stuck with a boat system that needs it, i usually run a breaker on the main bat, and a fuse on the aux....

I have 125 amp circuit breaker, @6 " from aux battery, winch power, and 1000w inverter.

I want to have the capability to jump the other battery will that stinger you posted from amazon do it ?

that's what it does... that little post is for the trigger wire from a switch in the dash.. main bat dies, hit the switch and it brings the fresh battery into the circuit.. parallels them...

Mine is very simple. 1 alternator charges each battery. Main battery does normal truck stuff, aux battery runs winch, radio, tablet, interior lights, etc. 1 big switch allows connecting the two sides together for "self-jump" or winching with 2 alt/2 batt.

On mine I have a boat switch and a giant relay like this:

The switch picks what is connected all the time (1,2,both,none) and the relay connects both together when the ignition is on. So both start, both charge, but one cuts off and doesn't run down if there is some sort of slow drain when the vehicle sits. It's saved by butt several times when the main battery died. The only thing I don't like is all the cable running around on the fender. There's a pic somewhere on the forum.
