Lets play: How much is this truck worth?

GM never put a big glock in the 4x4 Suburbans. I am not sure of the first year of big blocks in K series trucks though. I think it was 1981, but don't quote me on that. My 1982 K30 3+3 has an OEM 454.

I love how when somone spends 20 grand paying people to build something, that its magicly worth that when they try to sell it.

I can recall about three or four years ago seeing a mint 86 K30 single wheel regular cab for sale a couple of hours from me. That truck was low milage original, had a new 5.5" lift kit on brand new 36" swampers AND 456 gears.

That truck sold quick, the asking price was $5500 CDN. You had to see it to believe it.

GM did put a big block in 4x4 Burbs but they were not available to the public. The armored border patrol Burbs had them. Our local SWAT team bought one of them last year. As far as we could tell the engine was in them before they went for the armor.

Even if this truck had a perfect body on it, it wouldn't be worth what he wants.

This one is nice, not 50K nice though. The body work looks great. But when I got to the pictures of the frame/suspenssion....could have done a better job IMO, especially for a "custom" shop. The transmission crossmember looks like an old trailer hitch.

nice, but overpriced...

Our local Chevy store had an awesome 77' Reg Cab Dually, camper special with 9,827 original miles. Just had a little bit of rust starting under the truck, but INCREDIBLE shape. To bad it was 2wd. No idea what engine/trans it had either. They sold the thing for like 4500.
id say they are worth that amount.both apear to be completely restored.the 72 chevy looks to be 3/4 ton from the picks.that blazer looks awesome.almost showroom quality.i hope that 50,000 mud race blazer was a misprint and they wanted 5000 for it.haha.really good lookin truck but 50000 for it is crazy.id say 10 to 15 k would be a good price though.

Blast from the not so distant past there.

That's because he's on meth.:haha: That's Kowkaska, east of Traverse City. Home of most of Northern Michigan's meth heads and makers. Large amount of pot growers and users too.

Probably still thinks because it isn't completely rotted out it's worth tons of cash. You still run into those fools in Michigan, you know this.;)

"lock out in back":haha: Like the Chevy in the title and GMC grill. Also the complete lack of a good description.
Anyone else notice most of these ads have very little in the way of actual descriptive information on the vehicles trying to be sold?

I know all about Kalkaska and surounding area. I'm up there almost every weekend in the winter with the sleds. That truck should be posted for $1500, and he'd better be ready to bargin. What gets me is that some people think "it's only surface rust." With all the salt they use on the roads, surface rust turns to cancer overnight.

Yeah. People need to realize the good days of even 2-3 years ago when anything slightly NOT rusty was worth 3x bluebook are long gone. Good riddance too. Means I can almost support my habit now.

some good lookin trucks but most are way too over priced, the dually and the other 72 are awesome trucks. the mudbogger is cool, but most of the people who are into mud bogging, no offense, dont have that kind of money to spend on a rig. i know i dont. And you are def right about the good ol days of sellin stuff way high are gone, unless you find an idiot with a pocket full of cash. I just bought my K5 for 1500 bucks, the guy i got it off of payed 3200 for it less than a year ago, and it has a new crate motor, 4.10's and 35's plus a set of eagle 058 wheels.

I like it. Used to own a 2 door Blazer K1500 like that.

However he's on crack if he thinks he'll get that. Not worth half that.

the 2 door tahoe seems to always sell so high. people think since they are 2 doors they are worth gold. thats a super nice 2 door but definitely not worth that price.

first off, what its worth, what people think its worth and what it will sell for are 3 completely different numbers.

in the links i looked at i saw nothing that came close to being worth, or remotely coming close to selling for what they are asking.

I bought my 88 K5 aprox. 3 years ago in southern cali., for $5k. It had not been modified much. 6" lift with blocks in rear, 35" mud tires and aluminum wheels, pearl white paint over red undercoat and clear top coat, alpine stereo, infinity speakers, stock but very good interior, recent rebuild on trans (700r4), no rust at all, silverado package with electric locks and windows, tow package.

I wanted a clean blazer and this one had a good size lift and tires, so it was worth it, especially compared to the other POS's out there that were $2-4K in price.

I spent about $1700 on parts for my stereo and did the work myself, replaced the heater core, did a brake job with new parts that came with the truck, installed a tach., installed a remote start alarm, installed a K&N air filter. The engine had bad valve guides (smokes on start up and uses some oil) and sucks for power, but it runs good and is fun and reliable. It still needs a gear swap or axle upgrade and the tcase likes to slip out of 4wd.

My 79 chevy pickup and 88 K5 are an investment for the use and pleasure I get from them, I do not intend to ever sell them, do I keep them nice and spend the money knowing I won't get it back.

Ran across this "ONE OF A KIND SHOW TRUCK LIKE NEW" on Craigslist today.

Yep, so unique I've seen it dozens of times at car and truck shows all across the country...often at the same time with different colors!:eek1::rolleyes:
