AJM, your right. The difference between what people think something is worth and what they will actually pay for it is huge. Some times there is only a very small audience that will pay a reasonable price for an item. Look at our economy. It's becoming unusual to find a product not made in china. And, people expect every store that has the same product as walmart to list it at the same price.
Before I found the 88 k5 that I have, I had bought a 85 k5 that didn't run for $750 in so cal. The guy wanted 1k but gave it to me for less. The interior was beat, but all there, the passengers door had a crease and the engine was torn down half way. It did not have a lift. The sheet metal was in amazing shape and it was free of rust other than a few spots of surface rust on the body from scraped paint. The prep for a paint job would have been minor. I couldn't wait to get back to the seller with a trailer before someone else did.
I got the truck home and found a door for one side and then a few months later found the 88 already upgraded. Do you know how difficult it was to sell that 85? It was perfect for a project vehicle. I listed it higher but ended up giving it away for $750 with the door that I bought. Everyone wanted to know if it ran for that price and they seemed surprised that I wanted that much when they realized it didn't. I did state clearly in my add what the bad points of the truck were, including it not running. Of course I did not advertise on here so that didn't help (I wasn't a regular hear yet).
This showed me how little most people are willing to pay for something, even if it is a desirable item and seems to be priced ok by the seller. I could have parted the blazer out for more money, but the body and frame were too nice to see them not continue on as a complete vehicle. After that headache I decided that I didn't want to sell a vehicle again unless I absolutely had to. My friend used to flip vehicles and made money at it, but I buy to keep.

I guess people think it sounds cooler to say rims.
