M1028A3 + mil spec K30

I have one of those pretty rare M1028A3.
single cab dually. with dana 60 front and Dana 70 rear, with manual lockers.
6.2L Diesel (mil. spec).
She has only 31.000 miles on the ODO.
I saw one similar go on evilbay a few weeks back for $10.500. She had twice the mileage of mine , though.
in Camo CARG.

Might sell her , not sure. So far she's really fun to drive :D

Really nice truck :thumb:

Can you post a pic of the bed braces that can be seen in the tailgate down pic? I've never seen those before.

Those are from the container those carried in the back. They carried a lot of the weight of the thing instead of just the bedsides.

Yep. All CUCV's had the burgundy interior. GM offered it cheap or something.

That is nice! Manual lockers!!? Can you show the levers?
Probably means automatic lockers. That should have a Detroit Locker in the rear and a Power-Lok limited slip in the front.

I think he means manual locking hubs.

Would it have a Power Lock or a Trac Lock? I thought they only used the Trac Lock.

Neat info on the bed braces.

Limited slip front...power/track...whatever. I get them mixed up.

I will say I've seen them converted from M1008's with open front diffs.

Eh, hard to say. My M1008 was very burgundy but I've seen them where they aged or were treated funny and ended up red and brown. Not to mention they could be replacement panels that do not hit the correct color.

I beleive the interior color of those trucks is what GM called Mahogany. It was close to the burgundy but not an exact match. Most of the brown or brown/tan truck came with either mahogany interior or tan interior.

All the CUCVs I've seen had a brownish/reddish color interior. My truck has the burgundy interior and it isn't the same. Of course they're all 30 years old now, so it's hard to tell for sure, especially with a layer of dust and funk on them.

I have noticed that the replacement interior plastic that LMC has been selling lately is a lot more red than the original burgundy that came in the trucks from the factory.

The only thing red on my Cucv when i get it was the seats, the doors where faded red, so i painted them black and my dash was grey, I painted it black also, but yea LMC does not sell the correct color.
You can see on my build sheet it says bronze

Here is my latest V30 I drug home of which may never run again.:frown1:

1989 GMC 6.2L n/a Diesel, TH400/NP205, 4.56s, D60/14B, G80

Aren the rockers completely rusted off of it?? :eek1:

Yes, the picture is very deceiving. The fenders and doors are good because they were replaced during a repaint at some time. The truck had a salt spreader on it and is so rusty I'll have a hard time torching it up from the amount of rust. If you look on the trailer there is a fuel tank frame bracket that fell off on the trip home.

Over the years I've bought some rusty junk but this one takes the cake, so far. To move it I have to carry the back around with my backhoe because the drums are seized up and even the weight of the dump bed won't break them loose. Currently trying to fire the engine up but while messing with a bad fuel shutoff solenoid the started gave up. :doah:
