WTF? RJFclown? I have the most CI's out of the three of us, the smallest tires, lightest rig, and probably the most torque and HP TPI or not. I'll be waitin' at the top. Clown my ass. /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif

The best way to get maximum horse power out of that 350 is to move! That's right, get out of Cal. so you can be free to build a real motor /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif.
But really, since your there, I don't know how far you can push it in Cal.
It might be different if you where building a pre 70's car that didn't have to follow all the rules.
I'd say, go to an after market multi-port fuel injection and hide the NOS for the street /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif (J/K on the NOS).
Clean up the exsaust, maybe a cat back & headers, K&N filter and some good heads. It's hard to pull high HP without a little compression but it can be done. The deal is making what you have as effecient as possible. I know my 350HO, 330HP won't pass out there. I feel your pain but I don't think a blower will pass either and will not really help you on the low end to much.
Sorry but I don't know the combo that will pass emmissions and crank it out.
Maybe someone out in Cal. does? /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
If it helps you, the 350HO has:
9.1:1 Compression (cast alum. pistons)
4.00 inch Bore x 3.48 Stroke
CI heads with 23 Deg. valve angle
64cc Vortec heads - 1.94/1.50
Lift .435 intake, .460 exhaust
Duration 212 deg. intake, 222 deg. exhaust @.50" tappet lift
Hope this helps the build /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

The specs on that cam is the same as the '69 300HP/350 cam that i threw in my engine. went with 64cc's also. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

dont they make a street legal type of kick ass blower? or supercharger??? /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gifi know bobby here(up there) was talking about the whipple,a part time supercharger deal.that would be................. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Yeh, I'm sure Mr. Goodwrench doesn't want to push it /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif
The Votec heads are a the biggest help and I think it's nice to have decent HP and still be able to wheel all day on about 12 gals. of gas /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif. If gas was still cheap, I might try out that 572 someday /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.
I think the "Trooper" would really like the power and I sure miss my Big Block days /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif.

Try this one on for size i saw it a while back in there mag and it sounded preaty slick. they built a small block up to 400hp and ran it on pump gas /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif worth checking out they called itagent 87

I think these Paxton superchargers are smog legal in California. It is not a roots type of blower. Here is a picture of one...

THERE WE GO!right there......could i bolt that up to my stock motor?no cam, nothing?just bolt on?.keep talking that language,i like. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

You will have to go to their web site to get all the info on their products.

http://www.paxtonauto.com/

I am sure your stock camshaft will work with it, but you might want a better one that takes full advantage of a blower set up like Paxtons.

You got anymore cold beers?

decided to go with the vortec heads, but i dont know witch cam to go with........ /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gifIdeas???
