Lift kit installing help

Cancelled the offer, I talked to my uncle and he told me a bunch of bad things that can go wrong so I'm sticking wit cash!

Good move, I am glad he set you straight. For you, cash really is the best way. Wait until you're in your 20's before you start trying to finance stuff, and always get a bank involved. They will make sure it's done right as long as you triple-check that VIN!

Hey jessie would taking a 3k loan be a bad idea? i could easily pay it off even before august, and if you want I'll post some of those 61 pics of the car

with that many miles i dont know that id pay 5 g for that truck.3500 may be too lil to low to offer him if he wants 5 for it.but with that mileage on the engine, thats the first thing that will go.if it runs good and you can get it for 4 k id be more into the deal.seems that he is being a stand up guy with giving all the pics and all.i hope that all is as said is done.id ask for receipts of all the work that was done to it.if there is none,i would treat it as it wasnt done.at your age you would need a cosigner for the loan.if you can get one, that would be a small step to getting some credit started.the faster you get it paid off the better.it would be easier if you can pay cash for it.but thats a couple months away.i would keep looking in the mean time and not just jump on one.also with the new paint,id find out if they just bondod the hell out of it or if the metal was gone over and the rust replaced or fixed correctly.if you can i would take it to a shop close to where you look at it and get the shop to look it over for you and let them know your concerns.shouldnt cost more than 50 bucks and if you want it bad enough it would be worth it to get that piece of mind.

I have already talked him down to 4k which isn't bad. And ya I'll do the magnet test and I'll take it to a shop. It's worth the piece of mind to pay 50 bucks!:waytogo:

K5trs, as I've mentioned you cannot sign a loan until you're 18. It's not legal. So save up your money.

BTW, while it's good to look at these trucks, I have to say asking for all those photos AND negotiating price with someone when you don't have the money is very rude.

Taking it to a shop is a waste of time and money too.

Id say youre good then.t seller knows the situation and he already said hed hold the truck while he waits on funds.id say its totally worth taking the truck to a shop and have it looked over.the op said he has limited mechanical knowlege and having a competant shop look it over and tell him if it needs work is well worth it.

I agree that asking for pics or taking it to a shop when you cannot buy is rude and a waste of money.
However, if the guy already has pics, and is willing to send them regardless, then it costs him nothing other than a couple of seconds of computer time, and gets his vehicle more coverage, since the guy he sends them to might show them to other people.

As for going out and looking, I'm not on the sales side, so I can't say as to the frustration factor, but most salesmen I have run into, don't mind lookyloos all that much as long as they are not too bossy and want free rides.

that sucks its not gona work out.but you have only waisted a lil time and maybe a lot less money if the truck is not worth it.there will be a truck out there for you when youre ready.keep researching and learning in the meantime and you will be more prepared when you find what youre lookin for.it also gives you more time to save more cash.
as far as taking it to a shop and having it checked out.i was saying when he has the money to buy it and is about to fork over 4gs just to make sure he wasnt getting taken on the deal.
