linked one ton escalade (coming back soon)

So I’m an idiot and I had the rear half of the driveshaft on and went to unbolt it, it spun down and smashed my finger between the driveshaft and yoke. Done for the night 5 minutes after I started on the Escalade. Lol

I lost my thumbnail twice in a year. Slammed it in the door of my truck and then after it was almost grown back all the way I managed to wedge it between an exhaust manifold and the open end of a gear wrench. I think I peed both times. Lol

Ok I have no idea what to do about the wiring on the transfercase. Since the Escalade was AWD and never had a 4lo function am I going to have to add a wire into the computer?

That could be tricky, what year is the Escalade? I’ll look up the schematic

Edit. I went back and looked. Pin 16 in the C2 connector at the PCM needs to be grounded when in low range

Could you retrofit a similar year electric shifter button setup in it? Then you would just add the extra pins to the electric controller and it would be done.

You’re the man. I’ll still need to somehow swap the VSS from the older plug(95) to the new style(04). I wonder if it’s as easy as changing the pigtail on the harness.

Edit: I wonder if I can just ground that when it’s in 4low and now even worry about the fact that the Escalade didn’t even have the second plug on the transfercase to begin with?

Probably. But I already have this transfercase in there and want the manual shift.

Then like was said you just need to apply ground to that pin, a simple push button connected to the shifter will do that.

And yes you can swap the plugs on the VSS.

I spent an upsetting amount of time taking all the air ride wiring out today. Then got the fuel pump wired up. Currently waiting for the brackets to mount chevy brake calipers on the front axle. Also ordered a spare tire, they had a 55% off sale. even though they raised the price 30% before the sale it still wasn’t bad, and free shipping.

I would like you all to know I’m an idiot. I had the wrong Escalade computer for the body. Started right up. And it’s surprisingly quiet. Haven’t revved it up at all because I still need to fill the steering full and can’t do that until I get my stupid brake caliper mounts. So moral of the story is keep your Escalade computers in line

I would like to let you all know I’m an idiot, again. Ordered the TMR brackets to put 3/4 ton chevy calipers on the front, after 3 weeks of waiting...3/4 ton chevy calipers dont fit with the diy4x knuckle reinforcement. So stock ford calipers will be here tomorrow, should’ve done that in the first place...

Also got the bed for the kodiak about done today, then gonna take it down to my buddies to build a headache rack with his tube bender next week.

Unfortunately I got a promotion and have to go back to work March 5th, instead of mid April. So I need to get some stuff done fast.
